Well since I've been here a year now, it went quick, I guess you get used to it but you never forget where you came from. I still miss all my old friends in Ely.
~Flashback~
Dear Sam,
We have arrived in Germany and it's all so weird here. Their houses look like they're made out of lego. LEGO! The people look normal enough but you can just tell they're German....I know that's strange but I can. Anyway the house is lovely! It's much bigger than it was before and it rocks! The school is wonderful and I have made lots of new friends! It is so great here and I don't have to worry about how different it is because I know my friends will back me up and I can call you up whenever I want. My room is the best in the house! It's huge! I have loadsa posters in it and I'm gonna get it painted! I really miss you Sam but I know I'll be okay. I can't believe I cried when we left! I can't believe I was so worried! It's brill here! I feel much richer...haha! Anyway I have to go now and help with the tea so BYE! Love you lots! I won't ever forget you and I'll write you every week! It may rock here but I'll never forget where I came from!
Love Jemima xxxxxJemima stared at the letter she had just written and sighed miserably. She sealed it in a envelope and placed it to one side. She wasn't sure whether she should send it or not. She looked around her room. So small and plain. The colour was pale and the carpet was a manky green. No posters were up yet. She didn't have any. They didn't sell many magazines here. She went downstaris to Meg making dinner in their smaller kitchen. This house WAS small compared to their old one.
"Meg? Can I get my room painted?"
"Oh. Love, I've told you. It's not our house. We'd have to ask and we might get denied anyway. It's too much hassle."
"Can we get some posters then?"
"As long as you DO NOT stick pins in the wall and don't use much blue tack."
"But how are they supposed to stay up? What about my calander? It'll fall down!"
"Sorry but rules are rules."
Jemima screwed up her face. In their old house they didn't have to ask permission to use this stuff.
"You do know Dave is away for the week, don't you?"
"Yes," she sighed. She missed him and it seemed he was always away.
Meg looked down at Jemima and felt sad for her, "I'm sorry honey. He'll be back soon."
"I know."
There was a short silence, "How about you go out with some friends, huh? Have a laugh, some fun."
"Good idea. I'll call up all the friends I don't have!" she said sarcastically.
"Oh, you'll make friends soon, love. You're just new. People don't know you yet."
Jemima could feel the lump in her throat, "I can't. They won't! The school's crap, Meg! Nobody likes me!"
She ran out the front door with such energy and frustration she could swim back in the English channel to her old home.
"Jem!" shouted Med concerned.
But she was already gone. She turned back to the house a second. Small and grotty. Old vines running up it and the colour was old and grey/brown. Lovely house indeed. It sucked! She turned away again and ran off down the road, past the N.A.F.I shop that didn't sell anything good.
Yes, this place is greatOOC: That might of been depressing but that is what my house/room looks like and I'm not allowed to stick pins in the wall or anything without permission from the base guy person
