One of the areas that survivors have set up camp. All areas outside of shelters. Look for specific threads for inside the survivor's tents/shelters. The following survivors have a shelter in this area: 1. Ana Lucia 2. Claire 3. Dex 4. Edmund 5. Grace 6. Jack 7. Jamie 8. Jemima 9. Jinx 10. Kate 11. Krystal 12. Lee-o 13. Locke 14. Lucas 15. Natalie 16. Rose & Bernard 17. Ruby 18. Sarah Parker 19. Sawyer 20. Sonny 21. Vivian 22. Willo Location found in box F3 below: Each box is 3 miles by 3 miles. It takes an hour to walk 3 miles. But also keep in mind that hiking (like that really steep hill to get to higher ground) will take a heck of a lot longer and that if you're running (like from some jungle thing), that you'll get somewhere faster.

KATE
***Kate enters from her shelter in F3***
Kate stepped out, blinking at the bright sunlight as her eyes focused to it. She slowly and quietly wandered around, not drawing much attention to herself as she looked for Sayid.

***Grace enters from her F3 shelter***
Grace stumbled out of the tarp-and-rope-and-wood construction that passed as her shelter, hands pressed tight over her ears. What was going on here? She'd woken with a start this morning and realized that her normally quiet world was suddenly no longer so quiet. The sounds bull-rushed her eardrums, extremely sensitive after fifteen years not in use. They ran over her like a flood, threatening to drown her if she couldn't make sense of what she was hearing. Hearing. Grace had forgotten what hearing felt like... if this was what hearing people experienced, she was extremely glad that she was --or rather, had formerly been-- a part of the deaf world.

Willo emerged from his shelter. He was not a morning person, but the sun on the sand got hot in a hurry, and he was used to sleeping in an air conditioned apartment. The fact of the matter was, he didn't sleep well unless he was a bit cold. He was far too hot. He looked at the sun. Soon, that too would become rough for him. He sighed. He was not meant to live on an island, that was for sure. But maybe he would be safe from the world here. Maybe.
He looked down and sighed. He sat down in front of his shelter, and sighed. Yesterday had been bad.

She had forgotten all about her little temper tantrum last night. All Grace knew was that Willo was a familiar face, and maybe he could help her. She walked over and kneeled next to him without preamble, removing one hand from her ear long enough to write in the sand with her index finger. Forget paper and pen today, that would take too much time and leave her ears far too vulnerable. "I need your help!" her sand-message read as she looked at him hopefully.

Willo looked down at the sand and then at Grace. He shot her an odd look at first, and then looked at her ears. He grabbed his pad, not putting two and two together at first, because, well, he would have no reason to think otherwise. He wrote "are you okay?" and then realizes that her hands were over her ears. "Is something wrong with your ears?" he wrote, and looked at her with a worried look on his face, thinking she had an ear infection or something similar.

"Are you okay?"
Um, no. She was undergoing serious sensory overload and was dangerously close to a total and complete breakdown.
"Is something wrong with your ears?"
Grace nodded, putting her hand back down to write in all capital letters "YES." After a moment's pause, she added a brief explanation in regular letters. "I can hear."

"Oh my," Willo said, looking shocked. "Uhm... hang on..." he said, running into his tent. He open his bag and pulled out his set of headphones--a nice pair of cans. They wouldn't block all the sound, but it would help. He walked out of the tent and gave them to Grace with a sigh.

"Oh my. Uhm... hang on..."
Was that what Willo's voice sounded like? Grace did remember how voices were different from other sounds, and was able to pick his out from the myriad other noises. However, she couldn't really tell what he was saying. The headphones were a curious thing, but she obediently put them on. A surprised, pleased smile crossed Grace's face when the earphones were safely on -- they really did help with blocking out the sound. "Thank you!" she wrote, nicking Willo's pen and paper to do so. "You're taking this very well; better than I myself am, actually. Do you think I should see the doctor or someone about this? It can't be normal."

He used the pen and paper for her benefit and wasn't sure she would understand him either way. He wrote down "It does seem really weird. If you want to see a doctor, I'll take you to Dr. Jack."
"As for taking it better--I guess I was too worried about you to think about it. The more I think about it, the odder it seems." This was exactly why stream of conscience writing was a bad idea. "But don't get worried, I'm sure there's some sort of logic behind it." He handed her the pen and smiled, trying hard to calm her fears.

Grace shook her head eventually. "No, I don't want to bother him. He seemed pretty busy last time I saw him." She bit her lower lip in thought, wondering who else she could go to. "Maybe I'll just wait it out for a while and find Jack later, to see if it goes away any."
Maybe it would. Was it only temporary? Was this even possible, or was it just a dream of sorts? Oh -- he was worried about her. That was sweet. "Thanks," Grace replied with an attempt at a smile. "I guess I might be overreacting a little. I mean, I used to hear. I haven't in about fifteen years or so, but I ought to consider this a good thing, right?"

"You sure?" he wrote, smiling at her. "And I don't think you're overreacting at all. You couldn't hear for fifteen years and then we crash on a plane and five days later you can hear? That's weird."
He smirked and shook his head. "See, I told you I'd get all confused as soon as I started thinking about it. I can't really tell you how to react. I don't know how to react."
He looked down at the paper. "So, what do you want to do while we wait? Is there anything you'd like to hear?"

KATE
Kate needed some time to collect herself before going to Sayid; put the thoughts of the previous day and the rest of her past back into the back of her mind. He could read people like a book and she didn't want anybody to read her. She settled down in the sand near the shore, hugging her legs and trying to empty her mind of everything but the ocean, it's endless waves and the comforting sound it made.

***Severin enters from G3 - Camp - Severin's Shelter***
He spotted Kate sitting alone, staring out at the ocean. He headed over to her, feeling she looked a little lost. "Good morning." he greeted, walking up to her.

KATE
Kate looked up at the tall figure of Severin, holding her hand above her eyes to shield the glare of the sun and gave a weak smile. "Morning Severin." She realized that she may have been giving the impression she wanted to be alone, as one might assume when seeing someone staring off in deep thought at the ocean and Severin was a gentleman, so Kate issued an invitation for him to join her. "Care to join me for some wave watching?"

"Care to join me for some wave watching?"
"Certainly." he said with a slow smile. He sat down, staring out at the ocean. "You know, shocking though it may be, I'm not much for talking. I'm quite boring in that respect. I keep my thoughts to myself, mainly, and right now, me even admitting this is nothing sort of miraculous. The crash has forced me to become slightly more social than I usually am."
He was silent for a few seconds, and then looked over at Kate. "I apologise if I was a little short with you on the hike, about the pilot's information that we were off-course. I know you kept the information from us for a good reason."

KATE
Kate watched the ocean as she listened to Severin, finally turning to look at him when he apologized. The events of the hike had been pushed to the back of her mind, replaced by last night's events so it took a moment to register. She gave a reassuring smile and said in his defense, "To be honest, I haven't thought about that since we returned. We're all high strung, wondering if--when rescue will be here," she corrected. "But thank you. Apology accepted."

He smiled back at her, and then looked out at the waves. "Do you think it was him? Sawyer, the criminal the marshal was escorting?"

*Ruby walked out of her shelter spotting two new people a man and a girl-it was Kate, she knew Kate, but only because she was well established within the group dynaics, she helped out Jack a lot and decided to approach the who were in mid conversation, she realised the only way to try and get people to notice her was through confidence and decided to take a different approach.
"Do you think it was him? Sawyer, the criminal the marshal was escorting?"
"Nah it's too obvious" Ruby interrupted she glancing at the two.
"Sorry to interrupt, Ruby, Ruby Carling, sorry to listen in but I was just going through the same trail of thought myself, Sawyer may look like the bad boy type but I reckon it's just all talk with him, No, I think it's someone else, At first I thought it was Nikki & Paulo-but one Marshal couldn't be escorting two prisoners could he? And they look pretty weird but you can't put it down to appearances so for all we know it could be someone really nice like..say..Hurley, then again I don't think Hurley would have it in him" she laughed "He's too friendly to be arrested!"
She looked up at Severin and Kate taking a deep breath
