A part of the jungle outskirts near the survivor's camp. Location found in box F3 below: Each box is 3 miles by 3 miles. It takes an hour to walk 3 miles. But also keep in mind that hiking (like that really steep hill to get to higher ground) will take a heck of a lot longer and that if you're running (like from some jungle thing), that you'll get somewhere faster.

***Heidi arrives from F3 - Area of Survivor's Camp*** I found a tree branch not too far in that was right at about face level, placed the bottles on the ground, then placed my mirror on the tree branch, leaning it against the trunk. I'd been avoiding looking into it until now and nearly jumped back when I saw myself. I looked like something from a scary movie with all that dried blood covering the right side of my face as well as in my hair. Lovely. I took some of the gauze, throwing the rest over my shoulder and poured some disinfectant on it, then went to work cleaning up my face. I'd gone through a good chunk of the gauze but finally managed to clean up the dried blood. All accept for the wound and surrounding area. I took a breath and let it out. This'll be fun, I thought, getting ready for the stinging. Thank goodness I'd always had a high threshold for pain. I gently patted the wound biting down as the stinging started up and just ignored it as I continued. Getting sand out of the wound was ever so fun. I looked at my handywork in my mirror and was satisfied with it, then dug the butterfly bandage out of my pocket and placed it over the cut. I then took the rest of the gauze and poured water from my water bottle on it to try and clean the dried blood out of my hair. As I worked on it, I looked at myself in the mirror and my eyes went to the bandaide. Maybe I was a little crazy, but for some reason, I thought it looked kinda cool. It would probably leave a little scar but I actually liked my little battle scars. I leaned closer to the mirror to try and see the two old very small scars I had; one right above my left eye and another running vertical on my upper lip just right of the center. They were barely visible unless you got real close. I continued scrubbing the blood from my hair as I thought back to how I'd gotten those scars. FLASHBACK

Night begins to fall on the island, the only light coming from the constructed bonfires.

I shook my head, realizing that I'd been daydreaming. Daydreaming had always been a bad habit, especially in school during lectures. It had gotten pretty dim there in the jungle as the beams of sunlight here and there began to fade. Time to get back to where everyone else was before I lost my way in the dark. I walked along the outskirts, observing the people and what was happening at the beach through the trees.

"So, when the sun comes up, we'll establish how many survivors there are and start talking about rations," Gwen said as they continued to move slowly back toward the bonfires. Ethan was far ahead of them, seeming to have no problem navigating the terrain.
"Yes," Sayid replied. "Food, water, medical supplies for those that were more severely injured. If the rescue efforts take longer than expected, then we'll have to start exploring the island for other sources of food and water."
"Ah, yes, rescue," she repleated slowly. The knowledge that any rescue would be looking for them in the wrong place--it was eating her up inside. But these people still had hope, and she couldn't take that away.
They both stopped short as a loud, mechanical growling started in the distance and grew closer.
"What was that?" she whispered.
The trees around them began to shake, and one was violently uprooted.
"Run," Sayid advised, and they both took off in the direction of the camp, the bonfires visible through the trees.

Krystal woke up, and saw the beautiful island... but then remembered... everything had gone, her life, her house... everything. She was so angry and upset, but she resigned herself to the fact she was here. Hey, the rescue boats would come soon, right?
Krystal made a mental note to find the other survivors, she headed back to the main camp.

(dunno if this is the right place but ah well.) Natalie ran and ran. She didn't know where she was going but she had to find out where the whispers were coming from. Suddenly she tripped over a fallen branch. "Oh shit!" Natalie muttered. She tried to get up again but a tremendous pain around her ankle burned. "Oh why me!" She cried. She couldn't get up. She must have sprained it. She needed help! "HELP!" She shouted. "Please help me!" Suddenly a figure came out of nowhere. "E....Emma?" Natalie stuttered. "Look after Jemima, Natalie." "W...What?" "Look after her." She continued. "She's special...And so are you." "Emma. What the hell areyou talking about?" Emma sighed. "Just take care of each other, idiot." And then she was gone. That was more like the Emma she knew. Natalie smiled but then the pain in her ankle was back again. "Bollocks." Natalie whispered. It hurt. "HELP!" She yelled again." Somebody help me!!!!"

CLAIRE Claire wandered through the jungle. The noises got louder. It was definately shouting for help. Claire walked faster. "H.....hello?" She shouted. "HELLO!? PLEASE HELP ME!" a voice screamed. A girls voice. "I'm coming!" Claire shouted to her. She finally reached her.The girls foot was trapped under a branch. Ow! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ NATALIE Oh thank God. Someone had come at last. She was beginning to loose hope. "It's my ankle." Natalie explained. "I think i sprained it." The woman looked at her. How was she gonna help her back to camp. She looked about 7or 8 months pregnant. She wandered over to her. She began to pull off the branch. Her face screwed up as she pulled. "Quick now." She wheezed as the branch came loose enough for Natalie to pull her foot away. She quickly moved her foot. The woman let go of the branch and it snapped back into place. Natalie tried to get herself up but it was difficult with only one working ankle. The woman helped her up. Afterwards she clutched her buldging belly and gasped for breath. "I'm Claire." She wheezed. "I'm Natalie."Natalie breathed. They stood there for a moment catching their breath. And eventually Claire helped Natalie back to camp. Poor Claireshe thoughtfancy having to tug a girl with a sprained ankle all the way back to camp.

***Heidi enters from F3 - Area of Survivor's Camp*** I wandered into the jungle and looked around. The rain wasn't so bad here since the trees were stopping it and causing it to roll down the leaves and fall in bigger sheets just where there were openings. After wandering a bit, I saw a blue tarp tangled around the trunk of a tree. Perfect! I thought. I thought about shouting out to Brittany and John, but they wouldn't here me from here over the rain so I just went over and started to untangle it from twigs and branches and the surrounding foliage, humming to myself. Just as I nearly had it loose, I felt the ground shake followed by that same mechanical howling from the night before. THE LOUD, SLIGHLY MECHANICAL SOUNDING GROWL FROM THE NIGHT BEFORE IS HEARD AGAIN, GROUND SHAKING I stood straight up, staring wide-eyed into the jungle to see if anything was coming at me as I backed away and right into the solid form of another person. Before I could turn, run, or scream, an arm came around me , holding me still against him stil a steel band and a hand clamped over my mouth, blocking the sound of my scream.

He had seen her wandering, and had decided to follow her. Not for any particular purpose, just a feeling. And his feeling had been right.
With one arm around her waist to stop her from fleeing, his other hand was clamped firmly around her mouth. Running would get it's attention, and so would screaming.
He whispered in her ear, "Ssh. Come with me." he started to back away slowly, guiding her, not letting go. "Don't run or speak."

HEIDI
I relaxed when I heard the friendly voice talking soothingly in my ear and nodded in understanding as I let him lead me away from danger on wobbly legs. I could feel myself shaking a little with fear as I kept having visions of being dragged off by whatever the hell was making that noise.

He kept his eyes focused on where the noise had come from. It wasn't meant to go after bad people. But it always went after him. He'd never told Cyrus, Bea, or the others. He was afraid of the consequences. And even he didn't like to think about it. He was a good person, first and foremost.
He carefully lead her away, his grip loosening as his confidence that they were safe increased.

*Ana-Lucia enters from G3 fuselage and surrounding area*
Okay. I'm stuck on a deserted island in the middle of no-where after surviving being sucked out of the back of a crashing plane and landing in the ocean and nearly drowning. And now I'm heading into a jungle I know nothing about to follow a noise that sounds like a mechanical dinosaur made it, and that can bend palm trees like they're twigs as it passes.
I must be crazy......................I need a weapon.
A short distance into the tree line, Ana started to look for fallen branches she might be able to use as a baton. Something that would give her a little protection against whatever it was that was making that noise. Or, at least, something that would make her feel less vulnerable in the dense jungle. After picking up a few inappropriately sized ones, she came across a thick, but easily manouvreable, branch. She picked up the wet limb, swinging it a couple of times, getting a feel for the wieght of it. When she was satisfied it felt right, she took a breath and set off into the trees.

Treking in the jungle wasn't something Ana-Lucia was used to. The dense foliage meant that the going was pretty slow. She didn't really mind, she wasn't desperately in a hurry. At least now she was doing something. Why she was doing it, she couldn't answer. Tom might have called it fate.
She told herself she wasn't going far. If rescue turned up, she wanted to be able to get back to the beach quickly. If. She stopped briefly, questioning why she hadn't thought when rescue turns up. It might have been the shock of the last day, but Ana couldn't shake the feeling something was holding up the search for Oceanic flight 815. Shaking her head slightly, she continued, using the stick she'd picked up to move overhanging branches out of her way.
While she had been walking on the beach earlier, her mind had been running in overtime, and now she was alone again, the same question was coming back into her head. Why would a plane break apart mid flight? She knew there were several reasons but which one caused their crash?
Was it simply pilot error? They hadn't appeared to hit anything, and before it happened there had been bad turbulence. So was it the weather instead? When she'd sat down next to Jack on the plane, the view out of his window had been bright and sunny, so a storm also seemed unlikey to be the cause. A more likey explanation was mechanical failure of some kind. Maybe an electrical fault, causing an engine fire? Then there was the worst case scenario. Sabotage. She hadn't noticed anyone acting strangely at the airport, or on the flight, and she was usually good at predicting when trouble was about to break out. No, wait...there had been the scruffy young man that ran down the aisle moments before all hell broke loose. He'd been chased by a couple of flight attendants. There was every possiblity he had a device on him, or he was involved in some plan to damage the plane. It was also plausible a bomb had been planted on the plane before take off. Airport security had been tightened dramatically since 9/11, but people weren't infallible and if someone was fanatical enough, they'd find a way around security. But why bomb a tourist flight over the ocean? Wouldn't it make a bigger impact to bring it down over a city, where it would cause more damage? Or was it simply designed to elliminate someone on board, making it look like an accident?
In frustration at not having any real answers, Ana-Lucia hit out with her stick, striking a nearby tree. The impact caused a few leaves to fall to the ground. Moments later, she heard a low rustling noise up ahead. Whipping her head around, she stood silent, trying to locate the source of the noise.

LOCKE
Locke had been wandering the jungle, getting his bearing when he'd spotted some animals. The trees were holding back some of the rain, but it was still hard to see clearly more than a few feet in front of you, but he'd guessed the blurring masses he'd seen were boar. If only he had his knives. If he couldn't find them in the wreckage, then he'd make a weapon out of wood and shrapnel. But right now, he wanted to find out where they might be nesting. He'd been slowly sneaking up to the area where he'd last seen a couple of the animals disappear to when he'd heard what sounded like something had made impact with a nearby tree. He stood frozen in silence as the animals looked up from their meal. After a few seconds, they continued their feeding and Locke backed slowly away to find out what the disturbance had been.
He moved slowly through the foliage and spotted a woman. She whipped around toward him holding a branch in her hands like a weapon. He stood still and showed both hands so she'd see he was not going to harm her and slowly brought his pointer finger up to his lips to signify that they needed to be as quiet as possible. He then gave a smile and motioned for her to follow him. The smile was that of a man who was enjoying his surroundings and current situation as if it were a dream come true for him, and in his mind, it was a dream come true. He waited to see if she'd approach or shake her head.

The sudden appearance of a bald man behind Ana, startled her, and it was pure instinct to wield the tree branch like a baton.
"Jesus Chri..." She started, but stopped as the guy put a finger to his lips indictaing she should be quiet. Silently she mouthed the word what, lowering the branch as curiousity took a hold once more. It appeared she wasn't the only one willing to explore the jungle in the rain. She recognised the man from the beach. His smile was genuine, and her gut was telling her to trust him. Hesitantly, she followed him, briefly looking around to make sure no-one else was going to jump out on her. When she got close to him, she began to whisper.
"Where're we going?" She asked, keeping a tight grip on the stick in her hand.

LOCKE
"Up ahead," he whispered back. "Animals feeding but I'm not sure what kind yet. They were hard to see in the rain but by their size and stature and the tracks I could find, my guess is boar." He turned toward the trail and said quietly over his shoulder, "Try to keep to my footsteps."
He led the way through the foliage, stepping into areas he'd stepped his first time through so as to avoid causing any noises such as snapping twigs.

"Boar?" She muttered, almost to herself. From what little she knew about wildlife, boar were small, pig like animals. Certainly not what had made the noise they'd all heard, and definately not big enough to move trees. So she wondered why he was being so quiet. Surely boar weren't dangerous, were they?
However, she did as he asked. He appeared to know what he was talking about, knowing about animal tracks wasn't required reading for most people. She followed him quietly, half expecting to find some large hideous beast at the end of the track. It still bemused her why he thought she was even interested.
And then they saw them. Two boar with their backs to them. As Ana had predicted, they weren't very big. But it was what they were feeding on that really caught her eye. Two bodies, still strapped into the plane chairs they'd been sitting in on flight 815. Any way of indentifying who they were was now lost. Eaten by the hungry beasts.
Appauled and angry, she moved forward, ignoring Locke's advice to be quiet.
"Lárguese! Póngase! (Scram! Get!)" She shouted, waving her arms and the stick to shoo them away.
