Severin's Shelter Location found in box G3 below: Each box is 3 miles by 3 miles. It takes an hour to walk 3 miles. But also keep in mind that hiking (like that really steep hill to get to higher ground) will take a heck of a lot longer and that if you're running (like from some jungle thing), that you'll get somewhere faster.

"Well," I said as I zipped the pills back into Sarah's suitcase, "I'm not sure, but I bet it's from the fruit... group." I'd paused before the last word, distracted by unusual amounts of noise outside the tent. It sounded like people were running and I could hear a some faint shouts in the distance.
I kept my gaze on the tent flap fluttering back and forth in the breeze, trying to see glances of what was happening as I took little Sarah's hand and exited.

I sighed. Little Sarah had set her mind and I wasn't about to force her. Obviously this loss of the imaginary voice of her bunny was convincing her that she was cured of, exactly what, I didn't know, but it just wasn't possible for someone to be cured seemingly overnight. "Okay, okay. If you really feel that way. But I'm going to make sure we have one with us just in case." I put the pill into my pocket. "Let's get some breakfast then, yah?"

"But..." I looked down at the pill bottle in thought. The instructions were to take one each morning without fail. I wasn't sure what the full effect of the medicine was but just because little Sarah couldn't 'hear' Floppers didn't mean she shouldn't take them. Should it? People couldn't just be cured overnight. I looked back to little Sarah and said, "I think you should still take one though, just in case." I unscrewed the cap and shook a pill out, holding it out to little Sarah.

I started unzipping the side pocket of her duffel bag as she spoke.
You think I'm crazy don't you?
I stopped and considered her a moment then shook my head. "No. I don't think you're crazy." I reached into the side pocket and pulled out the bottle of pills. "Everyone's got quirks."

I took a deep breath and let it out slowly as I sat down and faced her. "You don't have to do anything you don't want to do. If you'd like, you can wait for me at the water's edge and as I said, it would be no problem for me to find a bucket so you can wash up a little. If you do change your mind and feel like stepping into the water a little bit, I'll be right there next to you. Okay?" I asked with a reassuring smile as I stood up and held out my hand.

Rummaging around in her backpack, I found the pills, popped the lid, and shook one into the palm of my hand. Twenty-five left I noted as I looked into the bottle before snapping the lid back on. That's plenty enough. Help will be here way before 25 days.
I looked up at little Sarah and handed her the pill and a bottle of water, noting her demeanor since I mentioned going down to the shore. I couldn't blame her for being scared. If it had been me who almost drowned the day before, I'd be leery of going near the water again, too. "Sarah, are you okay? We're not going to go far into the ocean, just the shoreline. The water won't be past your knees. Is that okay?" I tried to quickly think of an alternative. "Or I can try to find a bucket?" Who knows, maybe there was one around here. If not, I'd find something that could pass as one because I wasn't about to drag someone into a situation they feared because I sure as hell wouldn't want to be.

After several hours of a restless, dreamless sleep due to the restless sleeping little Sarah, the commotions outside, and worst of all, the sounds of agony from the man who'd had the shrapnel in his side, I finally opened my eyes to see it was dark out. I gave up on trying to sleep and decided to see what was going on out there. I grabbed my airplane blanket and stepped out.

"Yes ma'am," I said in a mock serious tone as I gave a salute. "Sleep sounds like a great idea." I pulled the blankets over her and Mr. Floppers and smiled down at her. "I'll be right here in case you need anything."
I crawled back to my spot and lay down at her feet on my side, facing the flap. The sun had begun fading since I'd last looked. I took another couple of long blinks and then started to drift off to sleep again.

I gave a mock gasp. "Sweet, innocent Mr. Floppers wouldn't do such a thing! Look how adorable he is," I said as I took Mr. Floppers from little Sarah's hands and had him attack her with kisses as I made kissy sounds, then started laughing as I handed him back to little Sarah. "You're dealing with more than anybody should have to," I said, turning serious again. "What's important is that you're here. Are you feeling better now?" I asked, wondering if the nightmare she'd been having was still affecting her.

"No i don't want to know, as long as i am ok now. Are you ok Heidi you look tired."
"Do I?" I asked rhetorically, knowing I probably looked like crap. I was exhausted and would do just about anything for a decent bath.
Little Sarah sat down on Heidi's lap and smiled. "And i am sorry if i scared you,"
I hugged her to me. "You have nothing to be sorry about. I should have been there. We promised to look out for each other and I left you alone. Just promise me you won't wander too far from me at any time, okay? Especially if you go swimming. The ocean can have a mind of it's own sometimes."

I felt so terrible for her. She had no idea what happened. Going through these personality changes must be scary. I couldn't imagine what it would be like to lose hours or days of your life. "Oh sweetheart," I said as I smoothed her hair back. "We did almost lose you. It was the scariest thing I've ever been through. Do you want to know what happened? It's up to you. You're mature enough and it's your right to know, but if you don't want to, that's okay, too."

Just as I was drifting off, it started pouring. It sounded so far away in my dream state. Not more than a minute later, I was woken up by water dripping on my face. I sat up and looked seeing a small rip in the roof near the door where water was coming through. I gave a small growl at the rip at being woken up and moved a bit farther from the door, wiping my face with the hem of my shirt.
I fell right back asleep and was just entering dreamland again when I was awoken by a swift kick in the back. "Ow," I said belatedly as I sat up and looked at my surroundings in confusion before remembering where I was. Little Sarah was tossing and turning. I became more alert and concerned as I crawled over beside little Sarah and lightly shook her. "Sarah, honey, wake up." She continued to toss about. "Sweetheart, wake up, it's just a bad dream."

I held back a laugh since little Sarah was trying to sleep and lightly hit his arm. "You're crazy," I said quietly with a smile. "Now go, enjoy the rest of your day. You've done more than enough for us today." I turned my tone more serious. "And I mean it. You let me know if you need anything. Anytime, okay?"
I covered a yawn. My adrenaline level, which had been all that was keeping me awake, was finally back to normal and I was practically swaying on my feet. "I'm gonna lie down now," I said with big blinks as I laid down on my side at little Sarah's feet, scrunched up in the small space. It would be hard for little Sarah to get past me without waking me up. That meant I could get some decent sleep rather than one of those restless light sleeps where you're always on alert. At this point, I was too damn tired to even try to sleep lightly. As soon as I rested my head on my arm, I was out.

I knelt down and adjusted her blanket then brushed her hair back. Poor thing was so exhausted.
After a few moments, I stood up again and faced Cyrus, placing a hand on his arm. "Thanks for your help. Again," I said with a small smile. "I think I lost track of how many favors I owe you."

"Okay," I said with a nervous laugh. I wracked my brain. It'd have to be something slower and more mellow so she could fall asleep to it. I decided on one of the Disney songs I'd most recently heard on my iPod, You'll Be In My Heart from the Tarzan film. "Okay, I've got one. Now close your eyes and I'll sing to you." As soon as she closed her eyes, I began to sing, quietly and with a slight nervousness at first but I quickly warmed up to it, still keeping my voice low enough so that it didn't carry too far from the shelter.
Come, stop your crying, It will be all right. Just take my hand, Hold it tight.
I will protect you From all around you. I will be here, Don't you cry.
For one so small, You seem so strong. My arms will hold you, Keep you safe and warm. This bond between us Can't be broken. I will be here, Don't you cry.
'Cause you'll be in my heart, Yes, you'll be in my heart, From this day on, Now and forever more.
You'll be in my heart, No matter what they say, You'll be here in my heart, always
I waited to see if she'd fallen asleep yet.
