Name: Claire Littleton Appearance: Age: 22 Whereabouts on Plane: Coach. Occupation: While she was 17, she worked in a piercing/tattoo parlor. Later, she worked at a fast food place, "Fish n' Fry." Nationality: Australian. Residence: Lived in Sydney, Australia. Skills: Knowledge of nature and animals and Astrology. Bad habits: Always being with her child (or being pregnant depending on setting), she is unable to help with hikes and any other things that happen. Frequent Moods/Expressions: Claire is always outgoing and kind. If she becomes angry with someone, she can explode but it's very rare. Reason for flight: Travelling to L.A. to give her baby up for adoption. Item from wreckage: She has her luggage. History: Claire was raised by a single mother, Carol. She never knew her father, her mother having told her that he was dead. When Claire was 17, she and her mother were in a horrible car accident and her mother had been in a coma ever since then. Claire then became an item with Thomas, and when she was 21, she found out that she was pregnant with his child. At first, Thomas thought that it was a wonderful thing and they would live a happy life as a family, but when Claire was four months along, Thomas then told her he couldn't handle being a young father and left her. Now on her own, Claire visited a psychic she had seen when she first found out she was pregnant and he warned her that she needed to raise the child. She disagreed, telling him that she was planning on putting the baby up for adoption. For months, Richard tried to convince her to not give up the baby until the day before Claire was to go to the adoption offices. He then told her there was a couple in L.A. who could have the child. Claire believed him and boarded Oceanic Flight 815. Thought I'd throw in a Claire/Ethan picture in there. Just for kicks.

I'll try a flashback.
Sitting alone in the tattoo parlor, Claire, now 19 years old, was flipping through the pages of possible tattoo choices. She hadn't had very many costumers today, so she was bored out of her mind. Her hair was no longer completely black, but as she had grown out her natural colour, she added some black highlights. It had been two years since her mother's accident, and she still hadn't woken up. Claire thought about what her.. father, had said. She had a hard time, saying that he was her father. She didn't even know his name, and the only reason he came to Australia two years ago was to tell Claire to kill her mother. How could anybody ask another person to do anything like that? Her thoughts, and the silence of the store, was broken as a group of guys entered. They seemed to be pulling in one guy, trying to get him to get a tattoo. He seemed reluctant.
"You have to do it!" One of the guys said.
"You know, I'd rather not."
"Thomas, how are you ever going to be cool, and attract girls if you don't have a tattoo?" The first guy asked, "Chick dig that stuff."
"Can I help you?" Claire finally let herself be noticed, as a "chick". The guys looked over and grinned.
"Yes, my friend, Thomas here, would love to get a tattoo." He said, dragging the guy Claire now figured as Thomas, over to the counter. She looked him over and nodded slightly.
"Okay, you have anything in mind?" She asked, now looking, and only paying attention to Thomas. She handed him the book of different ideas, then glanced at his friend. He smiled and gave Claire a slight wink, but she paid no attention.
"Guys, I really don't want to do--"
"Thomas, you're doing it." His friend told him, which made Thomas sigh. He looked at Claire and smirked.
"I guess, if I have to, how about a chinese symbol?" He suggested, then pointed to his wrist.
"Okay, a symbol of what?" Claire asked, smiling slightly. Thomas glanced back at his friends.
"Could you guys, go, possibly wait somewhere else?" He said, shooing them away.
"Whoa, calm down, man," one guy said. Guy #1, in Claire's mind. "If you want her all to yourself, it's no problem."
"Yeah, I think you should wait somewhere else," Claire then said. She hated when guys brought her into the situation. It was just stupid. When his two friends went outside, shouting to Thomas that they'd call him in an hour, Thomas sighed, turning back to Claire.
"Sorry about that." He said, rubbing his head, smirking slightly.
"Yeah." Claire muttered, "So, would you like 'warrior' or 'king', or something? Most guys want stuff that'll boost their ego." She said, flipping through the book once again.
"Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of.. I dunno, 'love'." He told her. Claire glanced up at Thomas and sighed.
"If this is some attempt to try and make yourself look like a gentleman," She said, putting her hands on her hips. Thomas quickly shook his head.
"No, really." He said, "I'd much rather have something like that. I just didn't want them to hear." He smirked once again. He never wanted to offend this girl. Claire watched him for a moment, before nodding.
"Okay." She said, "But I don't do tattoos. Only piercings, so I'll bring you to see him." She motioned for him to follow her behind the counter and he did, disappearing behind a door.

FLASHBACK
Claire heard the door to the shop open, then close. She didn't look up because she usually waited for the costumers to speak to /her/ before she looked at them.
"Hey." It was a familiar voice but Claire couldn't quite put her finger on it. She looked up and sighed.
"Where are your buddies?" She asked. It was Thomas, from a few days back.
"Uh, studying actually. If you'd believe it." He told her smiling.
"Yeah okay. So why aren't you with them?" She knew why he was back -- he didn't want another tattoo.
"Well, the courses I'm taking don't need studying. It's more hands-on exams." He told her leaning against the counter. "Art. Painting, y'know."
Claire nodded slightly, pretending not to listen. "You're in college?"
"First year." He replied.
"So you came here to try and impress me or something?" Claire asked. Some guys would come in every now and again to try and pick her up. It grew to be very annoying.
"No, more along the lines of buying you a coffee." Thomas told her smiling.
"And, is that supposed to be a good pick-up line?" Claire smirked. She flipped her hair, to purposely tease him.
"Well I couldn't think of anything else." He said, smirking.
"And what made you come back to ask me out?" Claire now leaned over the counter, finally smirking back at him.
"I liked the tattoo." He said. He held out his wrist to show her the chinese symbol. Claire touched it lightly and nodded.
"It turned out nice." She said, "It's still healing though."
"Yeah. Still painful." He said.
"It'll be fine after about a week." She told him. Thomas nodded before focussing on Claire once more.
"So, how about that coffee?" He asked her, putting on his most charming smile. Claire couldn't help but continue to smirk at him.
"Fine." She said, "I'm off in an hour. Meet me back here then. If you're not here, you've missed your chance." Thomas nodded.
"I'll be here. I promise." He said. Holding out his hand, he shook her gently before turning and leaving the shop.
