Thanks! Granny's going to be in alot of her flashbacks so i'm glad you like her
FLASHBACK
Alice stared over Shaun, his eyes were starting to open. "Gran...he's waking up." She hissed. Her grandmother grunted, too engrossed by a documentary on alligators. "Blimey! Look, that dirty great thing just ate half a cow in one gulp! What a pig!"
"Wha...wha' happened?" Shaun groaned, smacking a hand to his head and trying to sit up. "Why am i lying on your floor?"
Alice glanced to her Gran, "Um...you fainted?"
A flicker of a smile shot across his face, "Oh...i see. You kinky thing, you!"
Rolling her eyes to the ceiling, Alice shook her head. Shaun found most things kinky, give him a pig in a tutu and he'd think it was trying to seduce him.
"ALI, LOOK!" Grandma Abruzzi squealed, "IT JUST KILLED ANOTHER OF IT'S KIND, QUICK, I WANT TO RECORD THIS!"
Shaun frowned and stood up, he wondered over to the sofa and sat down next to her Gran, "Alice, can you get me some popcorn?"
"Don't forget the beer!" Her grandmother shrilled.
"And maybe some of those little sausages?"
"I like your style!"
Alice glared at them both before retreating to her room with the phone and some FTA files. She dialled the number of the Office.
"Hi Alice, wandering when you were going to call." The receptionist, Ingrid Thompson, said cheerfully. Ingrid was five inches taller, two sizes larger and a cup smaller then Alice. She had short black hair and big blue eyes. She reminded Alice of a porceilen doll because she could hold her glare for such a long period of time.
"How did you know it was me?"
"Caller ID, anyway, what can i do for you?" Ingrid asked, tapping away at the computer on the other end.
"Could you run a search on Augustus Ramos please?"
"Sure, give me until six tonight." Ingrid replied, "See you soon!" And the line went dead.
"A-LICE?!"
"Yes gran?"
"Me and Shaun are going to watch a programme about sharks, so we were wondering what topping you wanted on your pizza."
"Ham and pineapple, please."
"You disgust me, Taylor!" Shauns voice called through her door, "A red neck like you should be able to stomach something more."
"He's right, i'm adding those little peppers, jalepenos?" Gran growled, as Shaun placed the order.
"Whatever!" Alice yelled back, dialling up the number to Shauns lawyer. "HEY SHAUN, I'm calling your lawyer so you better not order those peppers or i'll sue you!" Alice laughed as she heard the receiving end answer.
"McCarthy here."
"Hello, i was wandering if you could help me out here."
He sighed. "Don't call me on my home number, use my office number from now on. You're a client. Not a golfing friend."
"I am not!" She protested as Shaun entered the room with pizza, she indicated for him to place it on her bed and carried on, persistance was obviously key. "I'm merely trying to help a friend out."
"Of course, of course. So, what did you want?"
"Do you know someone called Augustus Ramos?" She asked him casually, shivvering as she mentioned his name.
"I've heard of him. I've never represented him." he replied.
"Oh, so is there any information you could tell me about? Previous charges? Wives? Relatives? Anything?" Alice asked.
"A couple of charges for theft and murder, from what I re-call. As for wives and relatives...I'd need more time to find out."
Her door swung open again, her grandma stood there, pizza crumbs on her top. "Are you on one of those phone sex things? I was thinking of starting to do that, more money for shoes!" She said, taking a slice of her pizza. Alice stared in horror at her grandmother, "NO GO AWAY!" She squealed, pushing her out the door. "Um...sorry about that, and...thanks for your help."
"All I heard in the background was 'sex things' meaning I all of a sudden want to come over." he replied, laughing.
Alice stared at her reflection, she'd never remembered herself going more red. "That was my grandmother!"
"Oh, OK, forget it." he said quickly.
She stiffled a laugh, "Yeah, incase you change your mind i'm sure she'd be thrilled to meet you, she loves the younger men."
"No, no, no...no. No, no, no. Noooo." he said. "By the way, am I getting paid for this? Taking time out of my own personal life to research psychopaths and their favourite colours?"
She raised her eyebrows, "Most people would tell this kind of information from the goodness of their hearts." She wasn't exactly rich, most of the time she mooched food off her parents or her brother.
"Well, I expect to get paid."
"Fine, i'll send Gran over with the money when i catch him. She'll be expecting you to buy her lunch though." She said, trying not to smile.
"Forget it then, I'm not doing it."
She sensed her anger rising, "Hey, i don't have any money, you however have loads so your going to have to do it for something else because i am NOT paying you!"
"Sounds good to me. The money you make in a year is equal to the money I make in a day, anyway." he said, growing more frustrated. He grunted in annoyance, and hung up.
"Fuck you and all!" She screamed in annoyance. Her grandma entered the room again, looked at the pizza and said:
"You going to eat that?"
Alice shook her head and stormed out to the hallway, "I'm going for a walk, don't leave my grandma alone and don't play with my stuff."
"Yeah, Shaun!"
"That was directed to you." She barked to her gran, pulling on her red coat and shutting the door behind her.
