One of the areas that survivors have set up camp. All areas outside of shelters. Look for specific threads for inside the survivor's tents/shelters. The following survivors have a shelter in this area: 1. A.J. 2. Alice & Hamilton 3. Ben Henry 4. Billy 5. Brittany 6. Cyrus 7. Elliot 8. Erica 9. Ethan 10. Gwen 11. Heidi 12. James Woodhouse 13. Jin & Sun 14. Little Sarah 15. Nadia Santos 16. Nikki & Paulo 17. Noah 18. Sakura 19. Severin 20. Tusti 21. Walter Location found in box G3 below: Each box is 3 miles by 3 miles. It takes an hour to walk 3 miles. But also keep in mind that hiking (like that really steep hill to get to higher ground) will take a heck of a lot longer and that if you're running (like from some jungle thing), that you'll get somewhere faster.

***Gwen enters from her shelter***
After a quick breakfast of some fruit and water, she began the task of reorganizing what had been tossed to and fro the night before, finding the damage not as bad as she'd feared. There were still more suitcases to be sorted through, and no doubt other pieces of luggage strewn through the jungle between the fuselage and the cockpit that would need to be recovered eventually. Since the jungle had been relatively quiet, compared to the commotions on the beach, she was feeling slightly less apprehensive about venturing into the trees again. But only slightly.

I stepped out of little Sarah's tent, where I'd been scrunched up at little Sarah's feet and suffering a fitful sleep and a few kicks. Yup, great start to the day. I wasn't a big coffee drinker but right now, I wished for a Starbucks.
I yawned and tried to stretch as many of the kinks out of my body as I could. Thankfully, little Sarah was still sleeping though that might not last long. Looking around the camp, I saw a few people milling about and the only person I recognized was Gwen. I watched as she sorted reorganized some clothes that had been already organized by her the day before. As soon as she looked in my direction, I waved and mouthed the word 'hi', still trying to be quiet so Sarah wouldn't wake up.

Catching Heidi's eye, she gave a small wave and a smile in return and then went back to the task at hand. No doubt Heidi would be keeping close to little Sarah for the time being, lest the girl get herself into trouble again. And the fact that someone on the island had a loaded gun probably didn't help with the child's restlessness.

"Morning Ladies!" a loud and not in the slightest holding back voice rang out. Well, Sarah was getting up with a smile today ... not knowing why. And as she left her shelter in her rose jogging suit, seeing Heidi and Gwen being a few feet appart she had to make sure both of them heard her greeting. No way she would even think about wasting that much energy to greet them seperately. Heidi after all had to be considered nice. She had been there when Sarah was 'rescued' so ... but first every majorly good looking chick was to be regarded as a possible thread. Sorry Heidi ... maybe if you would get a pimple ...

Gwen winced slightly at Sarah's cheerful greeting and grumbled something about bloody morning people. "Hallo, Sarah," she replied, looking at her just long enough to be polite and then going back to work.

***Ethan enters***
He heard the cheerful, loud greeting, and closed his eyes for a moment.
Happy place. You're holidaying in Spain with Salma Hayek. The sun is shining and there's not a blonde to be seen.
He opened his eyes again. Oh God, I'm still on the island. I didn't die in my sleep like I'd hoped.
"Good morning." he yawned, slowly walking up to Gwen, clearly half-asleep.

I winced the same time as Gwen. Oh man, that damn cheery morning greeting was not pleasant. I wasn't much of a morning person, but my main concern was that it surely woke Little Sarah... and probably the dead.
"Good morning," I called out quietly putting on my usual, friendly smile. Oh well, little Sarah would have had to have woken up sometime soon anyway. I looked at the tent and listened for any movements inside. Maybe, just maybe it didn't wake her.

Little Sarah
‘Mr. Floppers was dancing in a field of grass and Butterflies, and Little Sarah danced right next to him. She dreamed of Home and Happiness, she was enjoying her dreams of Grass, Candy, and mommy hugs.’
"Morning Ladies!"
Poping open an eye, Little Sarah was not at all happy with the being woken up. Today was going to be a sleep in day, she wanted her watcher (as she liked to call Heidi) to get a little peace today. Something bad happened and she knew it. She knew That Heidi was worried and hell so was Little Sarah, with a sigh she sat up and pulled My Floppers to her. “good morning to you Little Friend, did you sleep well?” she placed him up to his ear and smiled. “good, come on lets see if Heidi is Circling outside.” Little Sarah giggled and slipped on some fresh clothes before Exiting.
“Mornin’ Heidi,” she smiled and watched as Sarah, no doubt the one with the big mouth, ran off to exercise.

I gave an inward growl toward Big Sarah as Little Sarah emerged from the tent. "Good morning, sweetie." I knelt down and spoke just loud enough for little Sarah's ears. "Seems even on an island, there's a sharp, shrill, morning alarm," I joked. "Did you and Mr. Floppers sleep well?"

WALTER The old man was already awake. He had been up for hours already, and looked around the group that was amassing around Gwen's tent. He grabbed the saucepan he had made from the debris--by basically bending sheetmetal-- and approached the group slowly. He glanced at Sarah with a confused look on his face, then made his way to Gwen and Heidi.
"I was able to make some coffee," he spoke, not smiling. "I made far too much of it, would either of you like some?"

I looked up at Walter and smiled, then stood up to answer. "Sure, I'd love some. More like need some. I didn't get much sleep last night." I looked down at little Sarah, then back to Walter. "I don't suppose you found any hot chocolate packets wherever you found the coffee?"

WALTER He frowned for a second, looking at her. "'friad not," he said, scratching his now substantial whiskers. "But, if it's for the lil' devil, I'll see if I can't figure something out with a candy bar in a little while. If she's anything like my kids were when they were her age, she won't be up for a while."
He then looked down to Heidi's knees.
"I guess I was mistaken," the old man said. "This is the only pot I have so far. So, we'll have to finish that first, ok munchkin?"

"Good morning."
"Oh, Ethan, hi," she said. "How are you?" Stupid question, she chided herself. "How's the, uh...?" She traced around her face with her finger, indirectly asking about his injuries from the day before.
"I was able to make some coffee," he spoke, not smiling. "I made far too much of it, would either of you like some?"
And then her attention was diverted to the older man who'd approached her and Heidi with the promise of coffee. "Yes, that would be lovely, thank you," she said. Glancing down to Little Sarah, she added, "And nice of Mr. Floppers to join us this morning."

"I'm 'fraid I don't have any cups, ladies, so you'll have to figure something out there yourselves. But here's the pot, enjoy," he said, setting the saucepan down for them. He got on his knees and looked at little Sarah. "And, if you want some hot chocolate missy, just come over to my shelter down there with this pan after they've finished and I'll see what I can do, alright?"
A smile came over the old mans face. He did enjoy children, and wished he had grandkids.
"I'm going to do old man things now," he said to the girl. "But just stop on in."
And with that the old man made his way back to his shelter.

"Sleep well?"
"Um..." she began, getting to her feet and brushing the sand from her jeans, "Sort of. I believe I'll have to find Ray somewhere else to temporarily reside, though. He sings showtunes in his sleep, and frankly I wasn't a big fan of Rent the first time I heard it." It seemed more polite than saying she had tossed and turned, worried by the fact that someone on the island now had a loaded gun that was certainly not one of Mr. Mason's props. The handcuffs, the gun--it seemed there was far more to this passenger list than the crew had been informed.
"I'm 'fraid I don't have any cups, ladies, so you'll have to figure something out there yourselves. But here's the pot, enjoy,"
"Oh, that I can handle," Gwen said. "Thank goodness for airport gift shop packaging. Some people's souvenir coffee mugs and shotglasses made it through the crash intact. I'll just go and get them." She hurried off and returned with mugs for Heidi, Ethan, and herself.

"This little munchkin is not like most others. She's an old soul; very smart," I said with a smile as I ran a hand over little Sarah's hair.
"Thanks again, we'll stop by soon," I called out after him. I remembered back to when Cyrus and I first met him in the jungle. He definitely did soften around children and it appeared he wasn't as crotchety as he liked people to think he was. There seemed to be so much hidden under that exterior; so much knowledge of the world and life. You could see it in his eyes. I watched him for a while, wondering what things he'd been through and seen in his lifetime and decided I'd be probably be lucky to never learn of or experience half of what he had.
I smiled at Gwen, then said, "thanks" as I picked up the saucepan and poured coffee into each. I looked at the black liquid and wished for something to mix in it. Not being a big coffee drinker, I usually made myself mochas or put creamer, but we weren't exactly in a coffee shop.
Little Sarah needed to eat so she could take her medicine. "Let's get you something to eat. Stay right here," I said to little Sarah as I placed my cup down in the sand and quickly jogged to one of the piles of food. Only a few pieces of fruit left in this one and no food from the plane. I grabbed a mango and ran back, holding the mango out to little Sarah. "Here you are, start off with this and we'll find you something else a bit later."
I picked up my coffee and took a small sip, cringing at the very strong and bitter taste as an involuntary shutter went through me. "God, I'll be able to swim to the nearest port after finishing this."

"The play where everyone has AIDS? Sounds fun." he muttered.
"Thank goodness for airport gift shop packaging. Some people's souvenir coffee mugs and shotglasses made it through the crash intact. I'll just go and get them."
"Oh, thank you very much." he smiled kindly.
