He looked over at the girl, barely listening to her ramble. However, the word 'Gwen' stood out, and he listened. Taking care of Severin. Who was Severin? The gloomy-looking Englishman, wasn't he? And Gwen was taking care of him. Taking care of everyone but Ethan.
Sawyer had said something about Gwen getting a 'new beau'. He turned his head away, trying not to think about it, and looked down at the sand below his feet.

JACK
"I'm Alisha."
Jack nodded to her with a smile, he didn't say anything, he just motioned for everyone to start moving.
"Sorry to interrupt Dr. Shepard, but I've been told your taking the group away to find water and well I wandered if there was anything that needs doing...medically of course, like with Severin, is he OK? Or is Gwen taking care of that also is everything else OK do you need anything?"
Jack came to a slow stop as he listened attentively to Ruby. "Nope," he replied to her with a sincere smile, "I think we're all good. Thank you though." Jack, having staled everyone long enough began to walk backwards as he shouted out, "Okay, let's do this!" He turned back around to lead everyone into the jungle.

"I figured, I sent enough PAs to fetch water for me, it was 'bout time I returned the favor," he said to Heidi with a smug look, as he threw the backpack on. "Though I'm sure they had a worse time of it."

HEIDI
"Return the favor?" I asked, raising my eyebrows. I smiled, unable to hold back the smartass in me. "So you're gonna fetch water and hold on to it until rescue so you can track down all your past PAs and deliver 'em?" I teased. "Or wait, did I accidentally end up on some set filming a movie about plane survivors?"
We'd ended up alongside Alisha who was being very quiet and it reminded me of me around a group of strangers so I decided to introduce myself. "Hey Alisha. I'm Heidi. This is Erik."
KATE
She followed the group and caught up alongside Charlie again catching a glimpse of Jack's tattoos and going back to the previous task of teasing Jack. "Hey, Charlie, ask Jack about his tattoos," she asked loud enough for Jack to hear.

"Well, the food's not as good as it was on Cast Away," he joked/namedropped. "And I was speaking... karmawise. I suppose a swift kick to the crotch is enough to get anyone thinking about karma."
We'd ended up alongside Alisha who was being very quiet and it reminded me of me around a group of strangers so I decided to introduce myself. "Hey Alisha. I'm Heidi. This is Erik."

CHARLIE
"Hey, Charlie, ask Jack about his tattoos,"
He looked between Kate and Jack, taking in Kate's knowing smile. "Oh, you guys have an inside joke. How absolutely wonderful for you both," he commented dryly, and continued walking toward the treeline.

So the trip had begun and i was ready to run if i had to, i knew what was out here. i heard it, you have to be a complete idiot not to know something is dangerous. "Hey Alisha. I'm Heidi. This is Erik." I looked up and smiled, it was nice. to have someone to talk to, especially if you've been talking to yourself for the last week.
"'sup?"
"Hi," i smiled. "why did you guys come, me, i came because i was sick and tired of the beach. i figured a walk could do me some good."

"Hey, Charlie, ask Jack about his tattoos,"
Jack continued on forward. He smiled a little, but he didn't show it. He just kept walking.

SUN
On the side, Sun watched the water group go. Suddenly, she was startled out of her thoughts by a loud thud as Jin slammed the fish he'd just caught against the plane part near her. She looked at him a little distastefully at the crudeness of it all. She turned and picked up a second plant to hold with the first plant, comparing them.
Sun was startled out of her thoughts as Jin stepped on the plants lying on the sand in front of her. She looked up at him to figure out his strange behavior but he quickly stomped across the sand at something that had caused the anger that had come across her husband's face.
"Honey --," she began in Koren but he ignored her and continued on his way, extremely livid.
"What's the matter?" she called after him. Alarmed, she got to her feet.
JIN
Jin watched the goings on of the survivors as he was getting ready to prepare his freshly caught fish. A glint caught his eye and he did a double take. Could it be the watch he'd sworn his father-in-law to protect until it was delivered to one of his U.S. clients? He squinted and sure enough, the expensive watch was unmistakable. Jin ran toward Michael whose back was toward him and tackled him from behind.
MICHAEL
The sound of rushing feet couldn't be heard on the sand but Walt's suddenly alarmed expression took Michael by surprise a second before Jin did by knocking him to the ground. "Hey! Hey, what the --" was all he got out as he lay on the sand looking up at Jin. Before he could move, Jin had him pinned to the ground and punched him.
WALT
He rushed over to them, trying to get Jin to stop. "Stop! Hey, stop!"
When Jin punched Michael again, Walt tried to interfere but Jin reached out and pushed Walt away from them, causing Michael to shout out in anger. Jin just shouted back at Michael in Korean.
Walt was beginning to panic. "Get off of him! Please! Stop!" he pleaded. The Korean lady, or Sun, as Walt had learned was her name, now stood next to Walt screaming in Korean at her husband.
Jin still didn't stop and Walt was starting to panic. "Stop! Get off of him! Please! Stop! No, get off of him!" he screamed as Sun continued to scream in Korean. The real panic began to set in as Jin held Michael down into the water as if trying to drown him. Walt was more terrified than he'd been in a long time. ""Do something! He's gonna kill him! Stop him, please!" he shouted as he frantically looked around.
SUN
Sun screamed at her husband but he seemed to be deaf to their pleas. He was more of a monster than she'd ever witnessed him to be and she feared for Michael's life. Jin continued to punch Michael as he held Michael's head down in the water.
WALT
"Stop him, please! He's gonna kill him! Stop!" Tears were beginning to stream down his face as he begged someone, anyone, to save his dad's life.

RUBY
She looked on at the fight, she knew both men by name Michael and Jin-but had never talked to either before, especially seeing as she could not speak Korean in fact Ruby could only every speak Italian fluently although she liked to think that she knew more languages. She rushed over to where Jin's wife, SUn, stood. SHe didn't know what to say or do. She had no idea, she went to Michael's son Walt a young boy who usually she purposely tried to avoid as she wasn't a fan of young children.
"Close you ears and your eyes!" she said trying to calm him down , he wouldn;t have to suffer seeing his dad like this. Ruby herself had seen many a fight in her childhood, she often blamed that for some of her many issues.
She attempted to break the two up for a few seconds before crying out
"HELP PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!" she screamed.
She had got caught up in the crossfire and fell to the ground, she hit her head, she lay there for a few seconds before getting up whiping her tears and running off.

SAYID
He saw the violence unfolding between the Korean and Michael. There was no way of missing it what with the screaming of the women and the boy who were hapless observers to the fight. Sayid cursed himself under his breath when he saw that the fight had been going on long enough for a fair bit of pain to be inflicted on the two men fighting. He could not have been aware of the fight earlier but still... he wished he had.
He ran into the thick of things and tackled the Korean to the ground with the full force of his charge across the beach. The Korean was in control of things while Michael was on the ground and apparently unable to defend himself. Despite the rage evident in the Korean's attacks, it was obvious that the man was skilled in unarmed combat and thus the greatest of the two threats presented. The best way to put an end to the hostilities, then, was to neutralize the most effective fighter- regardless of which belligerent started the fight in the first place. Guilt could be determined later.
"The handcuffs from the Sky Marshal. Now." He snapped to whoever was closest as the Korean began to flail out of the hold.

SAWYER
Following Sayid's lead, he helped Michael up out of the water as Sayid tried to restrain Jin.
"The handcuffs from the Sky Marshal. Now."
Reluctantly, Sawyer took them from his back pocket and handed them over.

SUN & JIN
Sun continued to yell in vain as her husband was tackled and secured. Jin struggled against Sayid's hold shouting in Korean and trying to break free to attack Michael once again.

SAYID
Something had to have happened. Something serious had to have been going on before Sayid had arrived on the scene. He'd seen people struggle this violently before but only very grievous circumstances.
Sayid took the handcuffs from Sawyer's outstretched hand and began to try to place them around the Korean's wrists but the constant thrashing and bucking made it difficult to slap them in place. Each time the metal came close to touching skin, the Korean would flail in the other direction and Sayid would find himself handcuffing open air.
He was going to need help if this was going to work.

SAWYER
Since big, tough Sayid couldn't keep ahold of Jin, Sawyer stepped in and took hold of one arm so Sayid could secure the handcuffs on the other. He glanced back to see how Michael was doing now that he wasn't being strangled and drowned at the same time.

WALT
As soon as his dad was out of the water and Sawyer had let go of him, Walt rushed over. He stared at his dad and put a comforting hand on his shoulder, an expression of concern on his face as he just watched his dad continue to struggle for air. Walt was at a complete loss as to what to say or do.

Gwen watched silently as Sayid and Sawyer rushed in to break up the fight. She couldn't imagine what argument the Korean man could possibly have with Michael, since Jin and Sun had kept to themselves ever since the first day, and Michael had been completely absorbed in taking care of his son.
"You're not actually going to handcuff him, are you?" she asked Sayid, thinking it was an extreme course of action and also that Ana would be terribly upset at someone else doing the island police-ing.
SAWYER
"Oh, don't go all Geneva Convention on us, Poppins," he groaned at her. "Bruce Lee here almost killed Michael."

SAYID
He heard Gwen questioning the need for the handcuffs. But she hadn't witnessed the violence that had ensued when the Korean was free to beat on Michael. She didn't understand the gravity of the situation and the need to restrain the Korean for the short term. And Sayid didn't have time to answer her questions or comfort her at this time. The cause of the conflict had to be sought out in order to minimize damage.
Sayid took the handcuff which wasn't locked around the man's wrist and locked it around a bar on the side of some nearby airplane debris, then turned to find the Korean's wife. While the belligerent was left struggling in futility with the handcuffs, Sayid could find out what had set the whole situation off.
