"Oh, no, you weren't interrupting anything." he said quickly. "Just...talking about alcohol-related injuries. As you do."
She nodded her head a bit and smirked. "Well, I don't have many of those stories, seeing as I haven't drank any alcohol for a bit more than 9 months." She smirked, and looked down at her stomach. "For obvious reasons."
"But, I'm sure I might have gotten pregnant from an alcohol related night?" She laughed a bit.

"It's a great place to visit," Nadia said, remembering the few days that she spent in Claire's country. "I only spent time in the Sydney area, mind you. There's an excellent view of the harbour at night," she added. "You must enjoy living there, Claire."
She nodded, knowing exactly what she was talking about. "Especially the Opera House." She said, smiling. "Yeah, it really does look nice there."
"Lovely place." he said.
Claire smiled at Ethan, then looked down at her stomach for a moment. Quickly, she looked back up at them. "Oh, I hope I wasn't interrupting anything between you two." She said. "I would hate to be the one who poked their head into something they didn't belong in."

"It is, yes." he agreed, glancing out at the ocean for a moment. "I mean, I personally prefer a warm shower to beautiful sunsets, but still..."
She smiled a bit, continuing to rub her stomach. "So, you guys like it in Australia?" She asked, just interested in what people had to say about her home country.

"That's right." he said, shaking her hand gently. "And you're Claire, who gave that very thoughtful memorial service."
Claire smiled, knowing that she had gotten his name right. "Thanks," she said, "But I thought it was the least we could do. They deserved to have some kind of memorial thing."
"Yes," Nadia nodded in agreement. "You sure have a gift with words, Claire. Are you a writer, perhaps?"
Claire looked at the woman who had been speaking with Ethan and smiled a bit. "Oh, no not really." She said. "I mean, I have a journal that I write it a lot, but other than that, I don't do much writing."
"I'm Nadia, by the way. Pleased to meet you. So, how have you been liking this island lately?" she added.
Claire nodded, smiled and shook her hand. "Nice to meet you." She said politely. "It's been.. weird. I mean, weird without everyday things. I'm so used to have a cuboard full of food and softbeds and stuff.. But, I couldn't really expect any of that here. But the view is absolutely beautiful."

CLAIRE
She watched as Walter left her and smiled a bit. She rubbed her stomach a bit, before deciding to walk towards the man and woman speaking. She wasn't sure about their names, but she figured now was a time to learn everyone's names.
"Hey." She said, walking towards them. "Um, I hope I'm not interrupting anything. I just wanted to come over here to say hi. I'm Claire." She gave them smiles then looked at the man.
"Ethan, is it?" She asked, thinking that was his name.

"Well," the old man said. "I've been to many beaches in my life, young lady. And, I've got a shell from each of them. Collection wouldn't be complete without one from here. I'm just trying to pick out the right one, you know, that cap'ures the mood of the place."
Claire nodded a bit. "That's a nice thing to start a collection of." She commented, actually speaking the truth. "And you have to keep yourself busy with something to do while we're here." She looked around near her feet, then at the water.
"So, have you found any other ones?" She asked.

"I'm Walter,"
Claire nodded. "Walter. It's nice to meet you." She said, smiling in return. She watched him take the shell and put it in his pocket. "Um, what's that for?" She asked, now returning her hand to her belly.

"'ello ma'am,"
Claire looked up at the man that stood next to her. He bend down and picked up a shell, before smiling slightly.
"Hi." She said. "I don't think we've met. I'm Claire.." she held out her hand with a smile on her face.

"But I gotta go to, but I'll check up on you in a few hours alright?"
Claire nodded. "Okay." She said, waving slightly. "Thanks for the advice." She gave him a smile before heading along the beach. Once again she was alone with no one to talk to. She sighed slightly and spotted a man and a woman speaking not far from her.
She thought about going over to them, but she would probably just be interrupting their conversation, so she decided to just stand on the beach, letting the water from the waves hit her feet and legs gently.

"Its hard to say whether or not it actually helps, some studies say it does, some don't. I personally think it does, but 8 months pregnant is a little early to be trying to induce and early labor. Just take it easy for the next few weeks, and worry about labor later," Jack suggested, "Although walking a lot with help make the labor easier, shorter and less painful."
She nodded. "Okay. I'll just sit around and laze all day." She smiled a bit. "Though it really isn't that great not having much to eat.. and having to pee almost all the time." She laughed a bit, tucking her hair behind her ear.
As the baby was kicking, Claire couldn't help but smile even more.
"Amazing, isn't it?"
She nodded, putting both her hands on her belly. She stared down at the ground until the baby stopped his moving and kicking, so she could only assume that he had settled in a new position.
She watched Gwen and Jack speak to each other and was silent. She stared out towards the water, actually enjoying the view. Sure, they were stranded, but at least they were stranded on a beautiful island.

Jack chuckled, "No, of course not, that's absolutely normal for someone who's in there third trimester," Jack explained, "You may feel tired, or short of breath, but that's just from the growing womb putting extra pressure on your lungs," he continued, "The only thing I can recommend is that you try to stay out of the sun a bit, and try to do minimal amount of work, alright?" he asked to make sure should understood, but it was a tad rhetorical as his instructions weren't at all difficult to follow, "I just...what we've been through, what we've all been through, I just wanted to make sure you were alright."
She nodded, listening to his instructions. "No problem." She said, nodding. "I've been trying to walk a lot." She told him, rubbing her belly a bit. "I heard it makes for an early labor.. That's true, right? I read it in one of my pregnancy books."
She stopped a bit as she felt another kick. She smiled a bit. "He's going at it again." She said, rubbing her belly, right where the baby inside was kicking.

"So do you feel overly nauseous, or dizzy?"
She shook her head. "No, not really." She told him, "Well, if I get up too fast, I feel a little dizzy. But it passes within a few seconds.. Is that a bad thing?" She asked, a bit worried now.

Claire smiled at Gwen as the two spoke, until Claire spotted the doctor, Jack. He came over and spoke to Gwen first, before looking at her.
"Claire," he greeted, with the same smile on his face, "How's the little one doing?" he asked pointing to her tummy.
"Hey Jack." She greeted back, smiling widely at the man. "He's good." She said nodding. "He's kicking a lot, but, that's normal, right?" She asked, knowing that he'd know, seeing as he was a doctor. "I swear this baby's going to be a professional soccer player or something."

"Sayid's tirelessly working on the transceiver signal, and John and his hunting party will hopefully bag a boar out in the jungle, giving you and the little one something to eat besides mango and papaya,"
She shrugged. "It's not that bad." She said, "I think it's about time I ate more fruit anyway. I ate a lot of people's chips and peanut butter during the last eight months." She smirked, thinking about how much of a pig she had been.
"I saw Charlie was helping you with some of the luggage yesterday. He seems like a nice chap, even if I've never heard of his band,"
She nodded. "Yeah. Charlie's nice," she said. "I mean, we only really talked a few times. But we was really nice and comforting the night we got here. He's just a great, funny guy. We need more Charlies.. To cheer people up and stuff."

"Good plan," she nodded. "So how long until you're due?"
She looked down at her belly, then back up. "About a month." She said, nodding a bit. "Near my own birthday. But, I'm sure we'll be long gone by then. So, I don't need to worry about not giving birth in a well supplied hospital."

"Oh, LA's home for me. When I'm not flying to and fro. Hopefully my friends will be waiting at the Cat and Fiddle for me with a very large pint when I return," she replied.
"As for family, I sort of ditched them back in Australia. We were there for my sister's wedding," she explained. "I didn't have much free time, but what I did see of your home country was lovely."
She nodded. "Yeah, it is nice." She said. "I would take a lot of walks in random parks. Apparently walking a lot is good when you're pregnant. Makes for a better labor."
"And a pint would probably be really good, but I haven't had one, obviously, in the longest time." She said. "Once I can actually get away and some time with friends, I'm probably going to have a few good ones." She smiled a bit more.

"Oh. I'm so sorry," she apologized, the look on Claire's face and subsequent lack of eye contact clearly indicating that it was a sensitive topic. "Would it be of any help if I said you were better off without the bastard? It's the sort of thing my friend Rachel would say at a time like this, and she's almost always right," she offered.
She smirked, before looking back up at Gwen. "Yeah, I've been told that many times." She said, "And it usually works. So, thanks."
"Do you have family back in America? Someone who can help you with the baby?"
That smile left again as she tried to decide whether or not she would tell this woman what she had been flying for. "Um, yeah.. I guess." She said, but of course it wasn't the full truth. They'd help the baby, but these people who were waiting weren't family. Claire had never even met them. She smiled slightly to reassure the woman, before trying to change the subject.
"So, what about you?" She asked, "What was in Los Angeles for you?"

"Your boyfriend..." she began hesitantly, noticing the lack of a wedding ring. "He wasn't on the plane, was he?"
She looked at her, not knowing what to say for a bit. "Um, no, actually." She said, glancing at the ground. "I don't have one. I did, obviously, but.. He kinda.. left."
The thought that Thomas had just left her alone in that loft that day, she didn't like thinking about it.

"That's a nice necklace. Is it a Chinese symbol?"
She looked down and picked it up off her chest slightly and nodded. "Yeah, it is." She said, before letting it go once again and looked back up at Gwen. "It means 'love'. I'm a sap for those kind of things, y'know? A romantic type."

"Oh, we met very briefly that day after the crash. Granted, that probably seems like ages ago," she said with a sympathetic smile. "I'm Gwen, I was on the flight crew. I drafted a couple strapping blokes to help set up an airplane seat on the beach for you. Hopefully it's made the wait a bit more tolerable."
She smiled widely and nodded. "Yeah, I remember." She said, "Sorry, my mind is probably just blocking out some random thoughts."
She kept a hand on her stomach as she glanced around. "Well chairs or the sand are both completely comfortable either way." She smirked a bit. "But thanks. So, you as bored as I am?"
