Name: Danny Parsons Age: Varies through flashbacks Occupation: A cop, soon to become an FBI agent. Appearance: Right now? He's reached forty. Nationality: American. Residence: L.A. Skills: A tough, strong fighter, but it's his morals that really make him strong. With a powerful set of ethics, he's a corn-fed, All-American hero. He's the crusader for the little guy while bringing down the big guys. Immune to bribes and corruption, he's a model cop, refusing to compromise his own moral compass for anything. Weaknesses/bad habits: He's idealistic, naive, and can be too determined for his own good. Frequent moods/expressions: Good-natured, good-hearted, determined, ready for anything and examines everything from every viewpoint. And here's Hamilton's rival.

Hamilton strode casually down into the underground parking lot, heading to-wards his car. Another day, another win, another load of cash. He was a natural. It was just that simple, and he had rarely lost. Whenever he did, he would meticulously go over the case, finding out what he had done wrong. Most of the time, he would come to the conclusion that the evidence was stacked against him, and no one could've won that particular case.
But he had won today's case. That was what mattered now.
He opened the door of his car, getting in. He took a brief look in the mirror, and then turned back to the wheel. Then, his head snapped back to the mirror, not sure he had seen what he thought he'd seen. A man.
A young guy, a police officer, in the back of his car. "You really should lock your car. The crime rate has gone up lately. It's only common sense."
Hamilton sighed slightly. Officer Danny Parsons. The young man who'd testified against his client.
"Well, officer, I'm yet to see the criminal dumb enough to steal from me. Now, unless there's something terribly important-"
"Did you know? Know he was guilty, because I think you did."
Hamilton twisted in his seat to face Parsons. He gave a slight smile. "Well, the jury thought he was innocent, and it's all a matter of opinion."
"Not to the woman he raped." Parsons leaned forward, gritting his teeth with anger. "And you set him free. Don't you care?"
"Officer Parsons, is a low-level beat cop like you really authorized to make the assumption that I would defend a guilty client?"
"People like you, that's what's wrong with the world. You know why I'm a cop? Protect and serve. It's what I do. I uphold the law, and you're meant to as well, but it seems you just create holes in it for scum to slip through-"
Hamilton laughed. Parsons leaned back in the seat, growing angrier. "And what's so funny?"
"I want you to come to my office, Officer Parsons. Just stay there, just stick around for a year or two, and you'll find out exactly how the law works. How the world works, because right now, you have no idea." he said, not looking at Parsons. "I know...I know you want to be righteous and good and everything, but that won't last. I'm going to talk to you again in a few months, and by then, I'll bet you'll have learned a great deal."
Parsons couldn't contain his anger anymore, leaping forward in his seat. "No. I'm not you, Hamilton McCarthy. I'm going to keep my eye on you, though."
"I'm terrified." retorted Hamilton in a deadpan tone.
Parsons gave a non-committal grunt, and stepped out of the car. He stood by Hamilton's window. "You're gonna slip up eventually. You're going to see everything, see all the results of you protecting these people. And I'm going to be there." he said in a careful, contained tone, before he stood back up, and walked away.

I used to have a very "Ally McBeal"-picture of lawyers. But now ... Hamilton spoiled my juvenile mind
