That's cool, I need to go to bed soon too. I'm getting sleepy.

Wow, she's perdy and exotic looking. Who is she? She kinda looks familiar, but then again, maybe not. Hm...

I have no idea who she is. She's in this Bollywood movie called Kisna - The Warrior Poet that I've been wanting to see. I thought she looked perfect for a Companion and luckily I found this image of her. Well, I'm gonna have to go to bed now. I can barely keep my eyes open. I'll reply to whatever you post, tomorrow morning. Night, Heidi.

Alrighty, goodnight! Yah, I was just going to say that that was my last RP post, so good timing. I have a feeling I'll be supporting my local Starbucks tomorrow morning. ;D

Oh, would you be a dear and get me a tall Vanilla Creme Frappuccino? Ta, mate!
*sigh* I really hate this job-hunting thing. Went for an interview this morning for a broadcast designer position at the local CBS affiliate, and as much as I'd like to do it, I just have this feeling that I couldn't handle it. I mean, I've done live theatre and I've worked at a PBS affiliate, but this place is like so much higher on the broadcasting scale. And every person I talked to had to tell me how relentless the pace was, how sometimes you don't get an order for a graphic till 20 minutes before the show, and blah blah blah stresscakes.
The thing is, I know my limitations (even though I usually refuse to acknowledge them and stubbornly press forward, like my Irish heritage makes me wont to do). And I know from experience that I don't work well under pressure, with tight deadlines and several people yelling at me. So I'm thinking I gotta' tell them I'm not interested. But this is the only job lead I've had in months. I've tried and tried for the better part of a year, while my bank account dwindles as well as my hope. I just wish someone would tell me where I'm supposed to fit in.
Anyway, think I'll go watch Snakes on a Plane and turn my mind off for a few hours. Ciao!

Sorry about your troubles, Kristi. I hope things improve. (hugs) I don't work well under the pressure either, I hate having someone breathing down my neck. I know you'll find something eventually, just gotta keep trying for a while.

Sure thing, Gwen! *hands Gwen a tall Vanilla Creme Frappuccino* And as far as that job, you know you could always take it and leave if it's really as bad as people are making it sound. At least for a while you'll be getting a paycheck and if you stay long enough, it would look good on the resume. I used to get stressed out all the time at my old work. I'm such a people pleaser that I'd stress myself out when I couldn't get everything done all at once. I had practically every department asking for my help because I'm quick and an organizational freak, so everyone started bringing me more and more stuff. I had so many people bringing me stuff asking for it by such-and-such time and I'd say "Sure!" then work my ass off and realize that there's no way in hell I could do it all. I didn't mind that as my fellow co-workers were great, but the owner and the higher-ups were all pricks who didn't give a crap about us and it was impossible to impress them. Then I read an article on stress and how it literally takes years off your life. It also does damage to your immune system, which would explain why I was all of a sudden getting sick all the time. So after that, I realized something very important. It's just a job. Only a job. Life is way more important and there's other jobs out there. I still work just as hard, but I don't let it get to me. I rarely ever stress at all anymore and let me tell ya, I've been so much happier and hardly ever get sick anymore. So if you want, give it a try and just do the best job you can without letting the stress get to you. If you don't like it, move on. At least you gave it a try and maybe it'll help them to realize why they seem to have trouble keeping that position filled. ;D

Thanks, babe! Mmm, frappuccino...
Oh, I know; my previous job at a newspaper pretty much destroyed my health. Hence, my hesitancy to go into another high-stress environment. I just wish I would hear back from the SBI. That's a job I know I'm qualified for, and I really really want it. But as with all government jobs, they're not exactly moving in a timely fashion.
And on a show-related note, did the pilot have a name? I know he was played by the adorable Greg Grunberg, but his IMDb profile just said "Pilot."

Aw, well I hope that you get a call back very soon from SBI, begging you to please do them the honor by joining their company. ;D Sadly no, he didn't have a name. He'll be in that new show starting up next month called Heroes. I'm gonna check that out. Kinda has an X-Men feel to it. Oh, and on a side note, I've been watching the Brisco County Jr. tv show on DVD and have seen two losties in it; one was Tom/Mr. Friendly/Zeke playing one of the guys in the bad guy's gang (he was in several episodes) and the other was Bernard, who was filled with bullets after only about 5-10 minutes of screen time.

I saw Mr Friendly completely stark-naked in a great movie called Sideways. Disturbing.
Bernard is played by Sam Anderson, who was a recurring villain and one of the creepiest people ever on Angel for two seasons. He's a truly amazing actor.

Hey Brit, do you have an accent at all? Like a Texas one or something? I'm still writing my response. Sorry I'm taking so gorram long! I kinda needed to know for my response. ;D

Not an outright hit-you-in-the-face country accent, but I do have slight one as much as I try not to. I live in the city, so luckily accents tends to be a bit less here.

I know! Where Greg goes, I follow. And it seems like an interesting concept. Haven't quite decided which new fall shows I'll be watching other than Heroes, Shark (for the James) and Jericho (for the Skeet). Heh, Browncoat bonding in the foodcourt. It warms my heart...

I'm looking forward to watching Heroes this fall. I have class on Tuesday and Wednesday evening this semester, so I'll have to tape House and Lost. It saddens me.

Lol, yah, it was great to get in a mention of Firefly. ;D Gorram classes... can't you tell them that they have to at least reschedule the Wednesday one? I'm sure if you remind them that it's the day LOST is on that they'd make the change without hesitation. ;D Thanks for the reply to the accent question, Brit! I think perhaps I'm going to make a reply to my profile with some finer details about myself in case people need to know it. Kinda make me more real and easier to picture for everyone.

Well, I've gotta go eat dinner and watch Silent Hill with my mom. I'll be back on in a couple hours, though. Don't forget to take a look at my Firefly character, Heidi.
