You can still bring a laptop onto a plane ;-) Just make sure you place it separately from everything else you're placing out for the X-Ray machine as you're passing through security. That way they can do whatever it is they do to inspect laptops without exposing it to radiation and frying your circuit board. American airports seem to give less trouble about laptops than European ones. Whenever I've gone back to visit family, they seem to react very differently to people with laptops. They seem to give me a physical pat-down and an inspection of my shoes and socks as a general rule. Can't figure out if it's because of the laptop or my attractiveness Also can't figure out which one is the more disturbing prospect lol Your laptop can be carry-on, so you can use it while in flight. Just don't use it during take-off or landing. Alledgedly it interferes with the electronics of the plane at that time. But I'm thinking that's BS and there's some obscure security reason for it. C'est la vie Enjoy your trip(s)!

Lmao!! *turns to glare at Arzt and takes sweet time taking laptop out*
Thanks so much, Paul! As long as I'm asking airport-y questions, anybody know how many carry-ons you can have? I'm thinkin' two, but does a purse count? I'm trying to avoid checking anything.

No problem Purses don't count. If security is fascist, which they usually aren't unless it's London-Heathrow, you could just stuff the purse into another carry-on and then glare at the yahoo in Customs and announce, "Presto! One piece of carry-on, Mr. Gestapo!" Two pieces of carry-on is the standard with most of the world. Purses don't count. Duffel bags with ski's crammed into them do. (And that one's a true story. Some people these days -_-) And now I'm going to be quiet before I depress myself at being so intimately familiar with airport regulations. I travel too much lol

Hi, everyone! It's me, Tyler, back and better than ever! School's really quieted down and it's almost over, so I'm coming back to the boards! I hope I can continue to write great for the boards (and hopefully get Tusti's picture up there. )

Hooray, Memorial Day is almost here! We're headed up to visit my sister in DC for the holiday, so I'll be gone from Saturday till Tuesday. I'll have internet access, but no messenger, so if any of my characters are urgently needed, just PM me. I'll do my best to wrap up all my convo's tomorrow and not leave anyone stuck before I go.

Hey all! I'm leaving at the butt crack of dawn for the airport and heading to North Carolina again. I'll be back Thursday night. I'm bringing my laptop with me but I'm not sure how much I'll be able to be online or if I'll have connection, etc, but I'll do my best to keep up while I'm gone.

Computer has been kaputt for the past week and I should have it back by Wednesday. Once it's returned home, I'll be able to get back to posting properly again.

Okay, I've got family coming in this evening (6/20). They're here for about a week, so I won't be all too active. At the most, I'll try to be on once a day. Currently, Jamie's in her tent. But if anyone needs to find her (sure they do; only two know her!), just come to her tent and PM me to let me know. I'll try to get there.

"Future Shop" people are slackers, at least here anyway, so I'm not sure when I'll get my beloved machine-of-sometimes-brokeness back. But I'll keep posting from the University on a semi-regular basis. So if I take a while to respond, it's because the closest computer to me is 45 minutes of bus and train rides away.
I hate you, "Future Shop". Why do you mock me so?

I'll be in Sri Lanka from the 24th June until the 5th July, but I'll try my best to get online a few times while I'm away. Heidi, hopefully I'll get a chance to talk to you on IM before I leave, but if not, I'm sure you and MM know James well enough by now to make a few posts in his name should they be urgently needed.

Just so that everyone knows, not only a selected minority, I am announcing today that I am having severe time trouble. I was taking a new job, in a new town, new flat, kinda new life. I am on probation so I am not sure if I stay with this company/city which is the major reason why I have neither Internet access at home nor a TV. Yeah I know, sounds like hell to some people. So I can only be online at work (limited) C-Box is disabled by the firewall and I can only use the web-messenger as it needs no installation. So for now it is fact that I could only do about one post per day and with the huge amount of characters on this show and the complexity of all the locations and story lines I simply can't catch up anymore. I am still very interested in the characters I've created and in the reactions people had on them. Once my personal live has cleared I will most certainly come back to play. Meantime I will still be around the boards answering and writing Pm's and stuff. Hopefully no one feels offended or mad about this, then I'm sorry.

Hey guys, I'm gunna be gone for a week, week and a half (probably be back around July 6) I'm heading out to Massachusetts and Maine, and then out to the east coast. I probably will have no internet accesses unless there's a wireless internet that has no security on it and that my psp can pick it up. It sucks too because we soon to be doing really good on time and it looks like day 6 is fast approaching, and Jack and Boone will have major roles through out the day. Hopefully I'll be back before day 6 starts, but if not, for day 6 and the rest of day 5 if one of my characters is needed please go a head and post for them.

Yeah, Day 6 is pretty much your day, dude. No worries; we've gotten pretty good at stalling. Just have fun and enjoy your trip. I've always wanted to go to Maine...

Just a heads-up that I'll be away at Dragon*Con (aka Geek Mecca South) from Thursday through Sunday. Monday will probably be spent recovering, and then Tuesday I start my new job which is full-time. So I won't be around quite as much, but I'll try to stay updated and not let anyone get "stuck."

Gah! Back from an unannounced (and unexpected) period of being afk.
My advice to those who have never been in an activist group before but might wind up joining such a cause in the future: If you're sitting at a table for one of the meetings and someone says, "All right. We need someone to talk to the media on our behalf. Any takers?" Don't be the first to look up from the table. For the sake of your sanity and leisure time, keep your gaze locked on your shoe laces and hold on to that fixed point for dear life.
Sorry to all that I kept waiting! I'm a jerk.

Lol, aw, you're not a jerk, hon. I thought you were still having computer problems. Very glad to have you back! Ben was temping as Sayid whilst you were away. Hopefully now that you're back, there'll be life again in the Tailies sections. ;D
