The examination room located in The Staff station. Location found in box D3 below: Each box is 3 miles by 3 miles. It takes an hour to walk 3 miles. But also keep in mind that hiking (like that really steep hill to get to higher ground) will take a heck of a lot longer and that if you're running (like from some jungle thing), that you'll get somewhere faster.

***Preston enters***
"All right, just take off your clothes and then sit on the table." he instructed calmly, setting his medical case down and opening it. He didn't need all her clothes to be off, he just wanted to see if she would.

SAMANTHA
Samantha found herself taken to another room, one that was used far more often than any of the others she'd been in. It was a clinically clean but slightly outdated examinating room. It gave Samantha the shivers to think what went on here. She stood by the door, protectively wrapping her arms round herself, her eyes looking for something of use amongst the paraphernalia. Perhaps she could hit him over the head with one of the metal equipment trays.....
"All right, just take off your clothes and then sit on the table."
Samantha looked at him as if she had mis-heard.
"I beg your pardon?"

"I beg your pardon?"
"Just put them on the table." he said casually. "Don't worry. I'm a professional, I do this all the time. Trust me, I detach myself completely."

***Juliet enters***
"Dr. Saint," she began, striding in confidently and placing her bag down on the nearest table. "So sorry I'm late. I got held up; Ben didn't ask you to start the exam without me, did he?"
Having put the young doctor on the defensive, she then turned her attention to the object of his imminent examination. "And this must be Miss Harkness," she said. The woman was clearly battered and bruised after falling from the sky, but nonetheless intact and seemingly healthy given the circumstances. "My name's Juliet Burke. I'm another of the resident doctors here, and I'm terribly sorry about the crash. You must have been through a great ordeal," she remarked, in her most sympathetic tone.

"Dr. Saint,"
Seeing the beautiful blonde earlier, he smiled, and greeted, "Hello, Juliet."
"So sorry I'm late. I got held up; Ben didn't ask you to start the exam without me, did he?"
"Oh..." he looked surprised. "I didn't know that Ben-"
"And this must be Miss Harkness, My name's Juliet Burke. I'm another of the resident doctors here, and I'm terribly sorry about the crash. You must have been through a great ordeal,"

SAMANTHA
The sudden entrance of a new person made Samantha jump, though there was something slightly comforting about having another woman in the room.
"And this must be Miss Harkness,"
Having a complete stranger use her name and refer to her as if she were some kind of local celebrity was really creeping Samantha out. Apparently news of a new arrival traveled fast here.
"My name's Juliet Burke. I'm another of the resident doctors here, and I'm terribly sorry about the crash. You must have been through a great ordeal,"
So Dr. Burke was a woman after all...
"That's very kind of you to say, but I'd find it all the more convincing if you weren't contributing to the ordeal i've been through."

"That's very kind of you to say, but I'd find it all the more convincing if you weren't contributing to the ordeal i've been through."
She threw a sidelong glance at Preston, and could only assume what Ben and Pryce had subjected her to. "I apologize, Miss Harkness. We're not used to visitors, as you've probably gathered."
She quickly thought up an excuse to get Preston out of the room and leave her alone with the woman. "Nor are we savages; we do have proper medical attire. Preston, could you retrieve a gown from the locker room for Miss Harkness? As well as a pair of scrubs for me, please?" she asked.

"Oh, yes, of course." he said soapily with a silly grin, as if he'd been in class straining with his hand up, and the hot teacher he wanted to impress had chosen him. He turned and headed out of the room to fetch what she'd asked for.

"Thank you very much, Preston," she smiled pleasantly until she was sure he was out of earshot. Then her attention snapped back to Samantha. "Has Ben questioned you yet?" she asked curtly.

SAMANTHA
Samantha wasn't sure which was weirder. The fact that this woman was helping all the other crazy people here, or that she was being so pleasant to Samantha while she was doing it.
"Has Ben questioned you yet?"
"Questioned me about what?" Samantha asked cautiously. "What exactly is going on here?"

"Questioned me about what? What exactly is going on here?"
"If you made any statements to him about your medical condition, I need to know what you said," she explained.

SAMANTHA
"Don't you people communicate with each other?" Samantha frowned, unsure why she was asking. "Yes, he asked me about my medical condition as you so clinically put it. In fact he was very curious about it actually. But I don't see why I should make your life any easier by repeating the same thing again."

She crossed her arms and stepped towards Samantha. "Because if you told him something that could be contradicted by the tests we're about to do, I need to know how to cover for you," she proclaimed. "Being caught in a lie on your very first day among us would guarantee that the rest of your stay is very uncomfortable. So, for the sake of making both of our lives easier, I'd appreciate if you would indeed repeat the same thing again."

"What tests are you about to do?" She asked tentatively, feeling a growing sense of nerves about the whole situation. "And why should I even believe you'd want to cover for me anyway? Assuming I even have something that needs concealing?"

She let out a ponderous sigh. It was all very complex, and she didn't have time to think of the right words to sum up the situation. Preston could return at any moment.
"He asked whether or not you were pregnant, right?" she asked. "If you're not, and I do a blood test which confirms that fact--no harm, no foul. You'll be treated just like every other person here, though maybe with a bit more curiosity.
"But if you are pregnant, and all the evidence that I provide to Ben supports your statement," she said in a very deliberate tone, "then you'll be treated a great deal better. And you'll have given both of us a chance to get off this island."

SAMANTHA
"He asked whether or not you were pregnant, right?"
Samantha nodded slowly, aware that Juliet seemed under pressure to get her point across before Preston returned. Perhaps she was trying to help her after all. Though that didn't mean that Samantha was about to trust her, only listen to what she had to say.
"then you'll be treated a great deal better. And you'll have given both of us a chance to get off this island."
"You say that like you're a captive too?" Samantha cast a suspicious look at Juliet, unsure whether or not this was some kind of entrapment or something. She hesitated before speaking again.
"He asked me if I was currently pregnant..." Another pause. "I said yes."

"You say that like you're a captive too?"
"I came here voluntarily. But that was a long time ago. A lot can change in three years," she responded.
"He asked me if I was currently pregnant..." Another pause. "I said yes."
She smiled at the woman. That would work just fine, for a time. "Then congratulations. How far along would you choose to tell me that you are?" she asked.

SAMANTHA
"I'm not sure..." Samantha faltered, still wary that this might be a mind game of some kind. She hadn't actually admitted to the fact she wasn't pregnant, even though Juliet had somehow seen through the lie. However, the events that had lead upto her catching the doomed flight 815 put a sliver of uncertainty in her mind.
"I guess about three weeks?" She shrugged, unsure how to really answer.

"Three weeks it is, then," she nodded. "And I assure you I'll do everything I can to protect you and your hypothetical baby. In the meantime, cooperation and compliance is probably your best course of action."
