A beach and shore a little ways away from the survivor's camps. Location found in box G4 below: Each box is 3 miles by 3 miles. It takes an hour to walk 3 miles. But also keep in mind that hiking (like that really steep hill to get to higher ground) will take a heck of a lot longer and that if you're running (like from some jungle thing), that you'll get somewhere faster.

JACK
He stood with his back to the ocean, staring into the jungle. He eyes wandered along the edges of the jungle, not really finding a focal point. Jack, as usual, had a lot on his mind, about the man he kept seeing, about Jake, about search party that left into the jungle to go looking for him, about the thing in the jungle that rips up trees and eats pilots, not to mention the rapidly spreading rumor that Jake's not coming back, thanks to Boone informing the camp on the search parties failure. Jack took a deep breath as he continued to stare. He wasn't sure if it was fear or common sense that kept him out of the jungle, but either he wasn't planning on running into it any time soon.

-Enters from G3 - Area of Survivor's Camp - Day 6- Little Sarah[/u] Sarah had heard Jinx when she ran off, she wouldn’t go to close. Diving in and almost drowning was not something she wanted to happen. So she stayed a good distance away and just watched the waves. Sarah couldn’t help think, how come the waves can be so beautiful and deadly at the same time? Looking at Mr. Floppers she smiled and hugged him close. “Mr. Floppers you’re the only one that understands me.” she looked at him and smiled, her face all puzzled. “What was that Mr. Floppers, I can hardly hear you.” Something was indeed wrong, she could hardly hear Mr. Floppers. “Come on stop kidding around,” She pouted when it sounded like Mr. Floppers was playing around with her. No something was indeed wrong, Mr. Floppers was going away. He was leaving her, “Mr. Floppers?” Mr. Floppers[/u] “Mr. Floppers you’re the only one that understands me.”“I know, you’re the best friend a Rabbit could ever have.” Sarah looked a little confused, something was bugging her. “Do you think I’m lying to you, you’re my best friend.” “What was that Mr. Floppers, I can hardly hear you.”“Sarah, can’t to hear me? I’m speaking nice and loud?” she hugged him tight, she couldn’t hear him no more. That made Mr. Floppers all upset, Sarah was always there for him. And now she was gone. “This is the saddest day of my life.” Little Sarah[/u] Sarah Remembered the day when Mr. Floppers first came to her, she was no more than four years old. She had always though he could talk to her, but when she learned of her sickness, she knew she could hear his voice. Now here it was, she being all grown up and Mr. Floppers was going away. [Mr. Floppers comes to life]She placed held Mr. Floppers close and kissed his cheek, “I don’t care if I can’t hear you, but I wish I could. O Mr. Floppers, I’m going to miss you.” Mr. Floppers[/u] “And I’ll miss you too…”

**James enters from G3 - Area of Survivors' Camp**
James walked up to Jack, following his eyeline and looking out toward the jungle. Apparently he wasn't the only one prone to spells of deep contemplation. The thought made him feel lighter, somehow less...mad. Though something told him Jack wouldn't be thinking that way once their conversation was over...
"Hey, Jack" James said brightly, standing beside him. "I'm sorry to bother you, but...do you have a minute?".

JACK
"I'm sorry to bother you, but...do you have a minute?".
"Huh?" he said to himself quietly as his concentration was broken. He hadn't really notice anyone around him, then again, he wasn't really aware of any of his surroundings. He turned to James as he began to get his senses back, "Oh, yeah no problem, what's up?" he asked as he adjusted himself to be facing James.

James paused for a moment, thinking how best to word the problem without sounding like an outright basket case. He had a great respect for everything Jack was doing for him and the other survivors and didn't want him thinking he had become completely unhinged.
"I know it's not really you're department, but... I keep hearing this...'voice' inside my head. I'm worried that I might be...cracking up" he said, unable to keep the disdain from his voice as he spoke those two final words.

Jack, now making his transition between social Jack, to doctor Jack, was looking over James to make sure that there was nothing physically wrong with him, "And what are these voices saying?" he asked, trying to put the puzzle together without the box.

"And what are these voices saying?"
"'Don't get involved'" James recounted, scowling to himself subconsciously; the words sounded even more maddening when spoken aloud. Elaboration was required and for once James didn't mind giving it - Jack didn't strike him as the biased type. "I used to be - well, am - an Investigative Reporter, so I've always been pretty used to being in the thick of it, you know? But now, every time I try and help with something that isn't my concern, like going out to look for Locke yesterday, this voice is there, telling me not to get involved".

JACK
"And how much have you been sleeping each night?" Jack asked, making it seem like he had pretty much ignored James' explanation, which wasn't the case at all.

James had to think about that one. "Not too badly considering our situation" he replied, smiling a little. "My watch hasn't worked since the crash so I can't tell for sure, but it feels like enough. I usually wake up a few times during the night, but I don't have much trouble getting back to sleep again".

Jack nodded as he continued to put the pieces together. It wasn't as though he could run some diagnostics from where they were, both he and James would have to settle with his medical opinion, but in order to do that, Jack needed a medical opinion. And therefore, he continued to ask questions. "How much water have you been drinking?"

James thought he could see dimly where this was heading. "Six, maybe seven of the small bottles a day, I guess" he replied. "I try not to take more than I need, what with the shortage and everything".

"I try not to take more than I need, what with the shortage and everything".
"Well, I'd say your experiencing a hallucination," Jack told James, almost positive of his diagnosis, "While hallucinations are very rare, being out in the hot son all day, its not unheard of. Especially when your trying to get over a huge trauma like what we've been through. I'd say you should be alright, but if it happens again, or you start to feel at all dizzy or nauseous, just take it easy, try to stay of the sun best you can, and make sure you continue to drink lots of water."

This diagnosis came as little surprise to James; he had heard of auditory hallucinations and although he wasn't entirely convinced that he was suffering from one, the idea came as something of a relief - perhaps he wasn't going mad after all.
"So I'm not losing the plot completely, then?" he asked, eager to clarify this most important of points.

"So I'm not losing the plot completely, then?"
He smiled. Something he hadn't done in a while, and it felt good, like finally breaking in a new shoe. "I wouldn't say your losing anything," Jack replied, "Not yet anyway."

"I wouldn't say your losing anything. Not yet anyway."
James laughed as one of the few genuine smiles he had felt on the island crept across his face.
"Thanks Jack, I really appreciate it. I appreciate everything you're doing, for all of us". James went to turn away, then turned back again, remembering how disorientated Jack had looked the previous evening. "But how are you coping with everything?".

"But how are you coping with everything?"
He shook his head trying to get the thought of the mysterious man out of his head. "Well...That's a different story. But I'll be alright," there was doubt in Jack's response, but there was no need to worry the camp about his insanity, until he was sure one way or the other.

Little Sarah
After a little while, Mr. flopper's was really gone. "I have to tell Heidi," Sarah ran off towards Heidi's Shelter.

"Well...That's a different story. But I'll be alright,"
"Let's hope so" James replied. "You're one of the few sane ones holding this crazy 'community' together. Just don't forget to take care of yourself while you're looking after everyone else. Thanks again, Jack." He smiled and, not wanting to take up more of Jack's time than he needed to, turned and walked leisurely across the beach. He was not in a hurry to get anywhere and wanted time to process Jack's diagnosis.
