Mid-Jungle area from survivor's camps with evidence that boar live or used to live there. Location found in box F3 below: Each box is 3 miles by 3 miles. It takes an hour to walk 3 miles. But also keep in mind that hiking (like that really steep hill to get to higher ground) will take a heck of a lot longer and that if you're running (like from some jungle thing), that you'll get somewhere faster.

***Locke, Kate, and Michael enter from F3 - Jungle Outskirts of Survivor's Camp***
KATE
She walked carefully through the tall grass, Locke still a little ahead of them and Michael close enough to have a quiet conversation with. She looked over at Michael who seemed to be lost in thought. The expression on his face led her to conclude he was thinking about his son. "Your son -- how's he handling all this?"

MICHAEL
"Your son -- how's he handling all this?"
Michael looked up at Kate. He shrugged, "A hell of a lot better then I am," he admitted. He looked up at John and then at Kate, and he just then realized he didn't know anything about either of them.

"You must be proud," she said sincerely. "He's a brave kid."

MICHAEL
"He's a brave kid."
"Yeah..." Michael concurred, "I can't take credit for that," Michael admitted, "I wasn't part of his life. Till his mother passed away, two weeks ago," he continued.

KATE
Kate reflexively looked to him with a sympathetic expression. "I'm sorry. I didn't know." Poor Walt. So young and having to go through the trauma of a plane accident just two weeks after he lost his mother.
Kate remembered back to the last day she saw her mother. In a hospital, dying of cancer. She looked so very different than the time she'd seen her before, back when she was working at a diner and threatened to scream for help if she Kate ever came near her again. Even barely clinging to life, her mother had fullfilled her promise, sending Kate running and ending with the death of Tom; the man she'd loved since childhood. She felt guilt creap over her as she did whenever she thought of him. If she hadn't had gotten him involved, he'd still be alive and living his perfect life with his wife and child. She'd left such a mess behind. A widow and little adorable Connor who'd grow up without his loving father...
Kate stopped her downward spiral of thoughts before she could be consummed with guilt. Thank goodness her expression would have been passed off as part of her concern over Walt's situation so she wouldn't be questioned. She inconspicuously fell a couple steps behind Michael and took a deep breath, letting it out slowly before stepping alongside him again.

MICHAEL
"I'm sorry. I didn't know."
"That's okay," he assured her in a friendly manner. Michael wasn't exactly devastated when he found out that Susan had past away, of course he was upset in some way when he found out about it, but there was no need for Michael making others feel worse about the subject then he was. "There were living in Sydney the past couple of years. I flew out last week, you know, to go get him," Michael continued, "What were you doing in Australia?" he asked both in interest and to keep the conversation going.

Locke was beginning to regret taking Kate and Michael along. It seemed all they did was converse, and everytime they raised their voices their chances of catching prey got slimmer.
And then he saw them, before the noises started. Deep tusk mark in the bark of a tree. He crouched down, blocking everything out and listening. Soft rustling, and a light snorting.
"What were you doing in Australia?"
He looked around to face Michael, and raised his hand for silence. "Shhh."

KATE
She hesitated, hating the need to lie but was thankfully saved.
Kate, who'd been ready to give the old 'visiting family' story closed her mouth and looked over at Locke. Her attention was drawn to the direction of the nearby deep, low growling, then she intently looked back at Locke for instructions.

He began to give quick hand instructions, directing Kate and Michael to circle around the boar.

MICHAEL
He watched as Locke gave hand signals. "Hey, quit giving us the steal signal," Michael snapped, not realizing the horrible mistake he just made.

MARTY THE BOAR
Marty the boar lay in a pile of mud watching Jake the boar, just waiting for him to fall asleep so he could steal his berries again. The idiot had thought the tree had taken his berries last time and Jake had knocked himself out trying to take down the tree. Moron. Didn't he know trees didn't eat berries? They only ate bad little piglets who don't do what their mum tells them to do. Marty wondered by Jake's mum never told him that when his mum had always reminded him.
Jake finally drifted off and Marty trotted over, feasting on the berries. All of a sudden, there was a loud noise. One Marty recognized but hadn't heard in a long time. It woke Jake up who promptly began to squeal and grunt at him in anger at finding out Marty had been betraying him all these years. Marty's long standing scam was ruined. He was pissed. He gave a disgruntled grunt of angry gruntness and charged in the direction the voice had come from.
The wild boar ran through the grass and headed straight for Michael.

MICHAEL
((OOC: Nice subplot Heidi, lmao))
Michael froze in fear as the boar darted towards him. He tried to jump out of the way, but he was unable to react fast enough, and so the boar clipped him right in the leg, knocking him to the ground hard.

As the boar rushed forward with raging speed, Locke quickly moved to Kate, who was closest, pushing her out of the way. And then Michael yelled in pain, the boar was gone and Locke was lying on his back. Staring up at the green leaves of the trees above him with glimpses of bright blue sky.

KATE
It all happened so fast. She felt like a deer in headlights until Locke knocked her to the ground. She heard Michael yell out in pain as he too was thrown to the ground. After the sound of the squeals disappeared into the distance, Kate attempted to get to her feet but she was still too winded. She leaned up to check on Locke. He appeared to be okay. Kate looked in the direction of Michael. She saw blood.
"Oh God." Kate quickly crawled over to Michael and sat down next to his injured leg and carefully moves the ripped material in order to see the damage. "It's bad," she said, worry creasing her brow. She looked over at John, still laying on the ground. "John, he's hurt." Kate looked back at Michael, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder.
After a few seconds, she looked back at Locke, confused as to why he wasn't alongside her yet checking on Michael. "John, can you hear me?" Kate stared at John. Maybe something did happen to him. She began to panic. "Locke! John, are you okay?"

KATE
Her attention fully drawn to Locke, she was relieved to see the slightest stirring. "Locke?" she said in a concerned tone.

Kate's voice brought him back to reality, and he glanced down his body as his feet. He wiggled his toe, and with a pained groan began to sit up. "I'm fine. I'm fine Helen, I just got the wind knocked out of me is all." he said quickly, grabbing his knife off the ground as he stood.

KATE
Locke seemed to be okay so Kate turned her attention back to Michael when his pained groans continued.
"I'm fine. I'm fine Helen, I just got the wind knocked out of me is all."
Throwing a quick confused glance over her shoulder at Locke, she said, "Helen?"

"What?" asked Locke, quickly looking around the area for clues as to where the boar disappeared to.
