James smiled before turning his gaze toward the ocean. He had been trained to observe even the most insignificant traits of those around him and had not failed to notice the reverance with which she had treated her wedding ring. Could her husband have been the one he'd seen her boarding with?
I hope not part of him thought. Because if it was, and he's not here on the beach with us, then that means he didn't survive the crash...
James sighed as quietly as he could. He himself had been going through it these last few days...the periods of self-imposed solitude, staring off into the distance...it made him feel almost hypocritical for his opinion of Shannon, but then again, the worst thing she seemed to have lost in the crash was a stick of mascara...
"What was his name?" James asked empathetically, breaking the silence as he turned to look at her. "Your husband" he added, inclining his head in the ring's direction.

ROSE
"Is," she corrected politely. "His name is Bernard." She absentmindedly picked up the ring again, closing her hand around it.

James blinked, a flicker of confusion momentarily crossing his face. It seemed odd that she should refer to her husband in the present tense...there was no logical way anyone in the tail section could have survived...perhaps she was just in denial, or trying to keep his memory alive...
"Well...I hope you find him again" James smiled, glancing back toward the ocean. He wasn't sure what to make of her apparent optimism, but the honesty behind his words could not have been more genuine.

ROSE
"I will," she said with a confident smile. "Thank you. For the fruit. It was very kind of you." She looked back out to sea again and held the ring, giving him the sign that it was okay for him to leave.

"No problem" James said warmly, standing up and smiling. He could tell that she wanted to be alone and didn't want her to feel he was encroaching. "If you need anything, let me know". He turned and walked back toward the camp, his smile gradually fading.

ROSE
Rose smiled but didn't reply to James, she had no interest in asking for favours as she'd always been use to doing things for herself or at least have Bernard there for her. She just kept glancing at the waves crash onto the shore and float back out again. Bernard was out there, she just knew it.

*Bella Enters*
Bella sat down on the shore, her bare legs infront of her. She noticed that they had gone a slight pink because of the sun, frowning Bella rolled back down her trousers to shelter them. As she watched the hypnotic rhythym of the ocean, a trail of thought penetrated her mind. "No one knows you hear, no one knows your weaknesses, no one can guess your problems. No one knows you, you can be who you want to be." She smiled, wishing it were that easy to banish your demons, true enough no one knew her, but then again that wasn't always a good thing.

After quickly grabbing the sunblock from my tent, we made our way back to the sandcastle and assessed the situation as I put some sunblock on. "Still looks pretty good. Needs a few touch-ups but the rain didn't damage it too much. Where shall we start, boss?" I asked with a smile as I handed her the sunblock.

LITTLE SARAH
"Free reign today, whatever need's touch ups fix up, i will take care of the rest." Sarah grinned and placed mr. Floppers down in the shade, it was time to get to work.

"Ah, so it's 'take the initiative and hope it impresses the boss' day," I teased. "Alrighty, let's fix this place up." I settled down next to a wall of the castle that had started to cave and began to fix it, careful not to create more of a cave in.

Bella, seeing the others arrive, was quick to act on her confidence. She stood up and shuffled over to Heidi, "Hey," She smiled, "What are we making?"

Rose stared over at Hedi, Bella and Little Sarah and smiled to herself, before slowly turning back to the the sea again. She grabbed another piece of fruit which James Woodhouse had previously given her, he seemed like a nie person but like very many others on the island didn't share Rose's confidence in Bernard's survival
She kept gazing listening to the noises of the other survivors in the background and smiling to herself warmly.

I turned around and smiled. "Bella, hi! Oh, we're making a sandcastle. But not just any sandcastle. This girl," I nodded toward little Sarah, "wants one big enough for her to live in," I said chuckling. "Oh, not sure if you two have met. Sarah, this is Bella, Bella, this is Sarah." I waved a hand to each with the introductions. To little Sarah, I said, "this is the girl I'm going to help build a shelter for. Speaking of," I said looking back to Bella, "we have another volunteer--Erik, not sure if you've met him--and he sounds like he knows what he's doing, so your shelter won't be a complete disaster," I teased.
"Did you want to join us for a bit or get started on your shelter?"

Little Sarah
With a smiled she looked up "Hi, wanna help build Mr. Floppers castle?" She looked at them with hopeful eye, she hoped they would help. she needed more friends anyways, "You wouldn't want to let him down would you?" Little Sarah smiled and held out Mr. Floppers and pouted.

Bewildered, Bella merely smiled. "Um...okay...sure." She said with uncertainity. "What do i do?" Sneaking a glance at Heidi, she tried to give a confident smile so as not to show her fear of smaller children. "I can help look after her and then we can build a shelter, right?"

"What do i do?"
"Well, right now, we're just doing some touch-up work. Fixing what the weather, rain, et cetera, damaged."
"I can help look after her and then we can build a shelter, right?"
"Yah, sure." I could tell Bella was anxious to get her shelter built. Either that or she was uncomfortable with... something. "Actually, why don't you two get to know each other and I'll go track down Erik." I turned to little Sarah. "I'll leave you here with Bella. Remember our promise... no wandering off alone, okay, sweetie?" I didn't wait for a confirmation because I knew I could trust her.
"I'll be back soon," I said to Bella.
~*~
After asking around about Erik's whereabouts, I finally got an answer from Steve (Scott?) who had seen Erik go into the jungle with James. "Something about collecting stuff for a shelter," he'd added.
I looked at the jungle, still apprehensive about going in there unless absolutely necessary, but there wasn't anything to worry about. Right now, there were hordes of people in there. Erik and James collecting wood, Locke, Kate, and Michael hunting boar, a bunch of other random people collecting fruit... So I decided to head into the jungle where Scott (Steve?) had pointed to.

Bella watched Heidi's retreating back with fear. Turning round to the girl, she smiled weakly. "Uhm." She started awkwardly, trying to hide her fear of small children. "So..." She stopped again, not sure what to say.

LITTLE SARAH
(sorry about the delay heheh i've been in my own little world as of late)
"I'll leave you here with Bella. Remember our promise... no wandering off alone, okay, sweetie?" Little sarah smiled and gave a mock salute, before turning back to Bella with a smile.
"Uhm." She started awkwardly, trying to hide her fear of small children. "So..." Little Sarah just looked at her for a moment, trying to figure out who this girl was, she seemed scared about something, or was that nervousness? it was so hard to tell now that they were all stuck on this island.
"No need to be nervous, look at me as a really tiny adult figure." She smiled wide and placed Mr. Floppers back down next to a tree, "In fact see me as you boss, kind of. " she motioned towards the sandcastle. "because i think we'll have some fun, in all honesty all you have to do is make sure all the sides are neat and there are no cracks in them, sound good? good." she smiled and got right to work.

((OOC: Say, let's put the VH1 Reject's crack stash near the sandcastle, shall we? Yeah, I'm evil. And okay, it's not that close. We'll say it's up by the treeline.)) Stealing away from the rest of the passengers, Charlie dug up the small plastic bag from its hiding place. Just one little hit wouldn't hurt, right? It's not as if they needed him to be sober and clear-headed. The food was gone, it was crisis mode. How was he supposed to deal with that without a fix? He opened the bag with trembling fingers--seeing, hearing, feeling only the heroin. Leaving the shade of her shelter, Shannon had decided to stroll along the beach in search of an accomplice. Maybe Billy, or Beau. And when she turned a corner, she saw a possible marker. Charlie. He was markedly shorter than her, but he was kinda' cute, had an accent, and claimed to have been a rock star at one point. And he'd seemed eager to help her while they were on the hike yesterday. "Hi," she said, ready with her warmest smile when he decided to turn around. Upon hearing a voice, Charlie quickly closed the bag up again and tucked it into his back pocket. He spun round to see the leggy blonde who'd been on the hike with them the day before. If he wasn't mistaken, she'd been flirting with him. In between all the running from the polar bear and the freaking out about the French woman's words. "Hi," he smiled back. "Shannon, right?" "Yeah," she nodded, tilting her head and letting a few blonde strands fall over her shoulders. "Are you doing anything right now?" "Me? Oh, I was just, uh..." he began, but words failed him. Drug addictions probably weren't an attraction for her, but then he guessed neither was stammering incoherently. "What are you doing?" he inquired, getting to his feet. "Um, I was just going to go for a walk. You want to come?" she asked, biting her lip coyly. Walk? he thought to himself. Did people still walk these days? Well, when you were stuck on a desert island, maybe there was nothing better to do. "Yeah," he exhaled. "Yes. Sure," he added, quickly and with more confidence. They walked together a little further down the beach, plast the blonde girl and her sandy work in progress. "Can I ask you something?" Shannon finally asked, stopping short and facing him. Charlie laughed a bit to himself at the all-too-familiar scene. That question was usually followed by a request for backstage passes, or to autograph some part of their anatomy, or possibly a more interesting proposition. All options that he was completely and totally fine with. "I wondered when this was gonna come up," he replied. "Yes, I am the bass guitarist in--" Shannon stopped short and turned to look at Charlie. "Yeah," she interrupted, "do you know anything about fishing?" "What? Fi-- fishing?" he repeated, furrowing his brow. That wasn't an option he'd expected. "Uh, my granddad used to take me out. He taught me everything he knows. Well, everything he knew. He's dead now, God rest his soul." Shannon was still looking at him expectantly. So she wanted a man with fishing skills, he'd bloody well give her that. "Uh, yeah, I'm like a -- I'm a fishing fiend," he declared, with slightly exaggerated enthusiasm. "You know, I mean, England's an island, so I just throw it in and fish." "Good," she beamed with a satisfied smile. It was almost too easy...

*Nikki enters from G3-Fuselage and Surrounding Area followed by Paulo trailing a fair way behind*
With a sigh, Nikki plonked herself down on the damp sand and let the frothy blue water flow over her sandals.
Hearing a childs voice, she spun her head round to see the little girl Sarah busily fixing up the castle she'd made for her toy...mr ploppers or something, she wasn't sure of the name.
Nikki coudln't even remember the last time she'd made a sand castle, whenever it was had to have been many many years ago.
Looking round, she saw Paulo standing complacently with his hand placed on his hips. Nikki rolled her eyes 'Can he do anything helpful?'She thought before returning to watch Sarah building her sand castle and the woman nervously trying to help her.
