"I've only been there once, when I was a child." he said. "But a wonderful memory, all the same. I didn't get out of Suffolk that often, and by the time I moved to London, I didn't have a lot of 'me' time."
"Oh, that's a shame," she said. "My father's office was just a few Tube stops away, so I'd go there to escape the very tedious world of estate sales. I dunno, there's just something calming about being reminded of your own insignificance among the many, many centuries of human history. Or perhaps I'm just masochistic like that," she shrugged.

"Oh, yes, of course." he laughed. "I never did too well in history. Or...many other subjects. Well, I did all right, I just wasn't interested in general. I was a teacher's dream...a mediocre, unexceptional student who neither caused trouble or did particularly well."

"Ah, the stealth approach to scholastics," she nodded. "Sadly I was an overachiever and a perfectionist, desperate for the attention and validation of my instructors. I'd like to think I've mellowed in my old age."

"Old age? You're what, twenty-four?" he asked, raising his eyebrows. "And I haven't mellowed or changed much since my school days. Except I've become a little better at not embarassing myself. One particular incident with a pig and a volvo springs to mind which I shall never repeat."

"Old age? You're what, twenty-four?"
"Mmm, bit closer to thirty than that," she corrected him. "I just turned twenty-eight last month."
"And I haven't mellowed or changed much since my school days. Except I've become a little better at not embarassing myself. One particular incident with a pig and a volvo springs to mind which I shall never repeat."
"Fair enough, I won't ask," she giggled. "At least not until after we've reclaimed the liquor cart. And if my brother were still around, he could have told you some very amusing anecdotes about me."

"I just turned twenty-eight last month."
"I'm caught between thirty and forty, at the moment. Which, I suppose these days, is the least of my problems."
"At least not until after we've reclaimed the liquor cart. And if my brother were still around, he could have told you some very amusing anecdotes about me."
"Amusing anecdotes? And I wouldn't be allowed to hear any of these?" he asked, smiling.

"Amusing anecdotes? And I wouldn't be allowed to hear any of these?"
"I believe I'll plead the Fifth," she stated, biting her lip in consideration. "In order to avoid incriminating myself and sullying the pristine Oceanic name."
She used a stray vine to tie up the bundle of branches that she'd gathered so far. "Besides, I think I've bored you enough with my ramblings. At least tell me I'm a better conversationalist than the T-Rex," she prompted.

"In order to avoid incriminating myself and sullying the pristine Oceanic name."
"Yes, because I'm satisfied with the top-notch Oceanic service so far." he replied, his voice dripping in sarcasm.
"Besides, I think I've bored you enough with my ramblings. At least tell me I'm a better conversationalist than the T-Rex,"
He smiled. "Better than the T-Rex, yes. It's just a head, anyway."

"Better than the T-Rex, yes. It's just a head, anyway."
"Oh, that's comforting," she sighed, beginning on another bundle of twigs. "That reminds me...what do you call a blind dinosaur?"

"That reminds me...what do you call a blind dinosaur?"
"I sense a God-awful but on some primal level, amusing joke." he said, chuckling. "What do you call a blind dinosaur?"

"A Do-you-think-he-saurus," she beamed. "Okay, what do you do if you find a blue Ichthyosaur?"

"A Do-you-think-he-saurus,
He couldn't help laughing. "That's awful. That really is awful."
"Okay, what do you do if you find a blue Ichthyosaur?"
"I really don't know, and I'm not sure if I want to." he said, still laughing.

"Cheer him up," she said simply, walking past him to the next clearing. "Thank you, thank you. Tip your waitresses, enjoy the buffet, I'll be here all week."

He grinned and laughed, "As soon as we get rescued, I'm sure you'll rival Eddie Izzard."

"Nah, he's better in heels than I am. And his make-up looks fabulous," she enthused, glad to meet another Izzard fan. "You remember the bit about, um...the Church of England? Tea and cake or death?"

*Enters from Jinx's Shelter*
Jinx
Kicking a few rocks as she went, Jinx couldn’t help but think about her uncle. He never did make it that night, he died moments after she left the scene. So the Reports read, and Jinx thought that was all behind her. O boy was she wrong, funny how things make your remember Tragedy’s. Certain events click in when you thought they were long gone.
As she got a little bit further into the jungle she heard a familiar voice, what she wasn’t sure of is if she should just go and interrupt. But If she didn’t just go right there they would think she was ease dropping and she didn’t want that.
"Nah, he's better in heels than I am. And his make-up looks fabulous, You remember the bit about, um...the Church of England? Tea and cake or death?"
“Who we talking about?” Jinx smiled and wiped the last of her tears away.

"You remember the bit about, um...the Church of England? Tea and cake or death?"
He was about to answer, when Jinx walked through the trees.
“Who we talking about?”
"No offence, but you probably wouldn't know. I'm not sure how famous he is in America." he replied. "Hello, Jinx. What brings you out here?"

Surprised by Jasmine's entrance, Gwen was just about to make introductions when Severin referred to her by name. "Oh, I didn't realize you two knew each other. And we were just talking about Eddie Izzard," she explained. "He's a British comedian, actor, cross-dresser. You might have even met him in your travels."
Then she noticed the look on Jasmine's face. Not the same one she'd had when they talked earlier. "Jasmine, are you alright? Has something happened?" she asked.

JINX
"No offence, but you probably wouldn't know. I'm not sure how famous he is in America. Hello, Jinx. What brings you out here?"
“Just wanted to take a small walk, That’s why I am here.” Jasmine smiled and walked a little closer, “ And I wouldn’t say that, If we’re taking about the same Cross dressing Brit I am. Well I believe I met him once or twice.” she smiled,
"Oh, I didn't realize you two knew each other. And we were just talking about Eddie Izzard, He's a British comedian, actor, cross-dresser. You might have even met him in your travels."
“Yes I met him before, he a funny guy. Love his clothes…”
"Jasmine, are you alright? Has something happened?" Jasmine gave a small nod, something did happen.
“Yah, everything is ok now I believe. Little Sarah almost drowned today, I tried to save her but couldn’t. lost site of her in the water, some other woman well she came over once I got out of the water and I told her little Sarah was in the water and she was off like a shot. I think her name was Heidi.” Jasmine sighed, “Never felt so helpless in all my life, couldn’t even save a little girl.” Shaking her head as if she was trying to erase the memories on one of those Etch a sketches.

"Well...I'm sure you did everything that you could," Gwen tried to reassure her. In all her other worries about what harm might come to the survivors, drowning hadn't figured in the equation somehow. "The important thing is everyone's okay now and no one else was hurt."
