Vivian made her way to a warm patch of sun, she needed to keep warm. Taking a piece of Cloth near by wrapping her body in its warmth. "I miss you kat." she curled in the sun and shook, she was not feeling at all well.

He'd gotten together four pieces from the wreckage, and had them embedded deep in the sand. It had taken a while, but now he'd spread the tarp almost fully across. Unfortunately, every time he got to one end to fasten it, the other end would come loose. He sighed, trying to make the damn rain catcher work.

((OOC: Hehe. Shades of Libby and Hurley...))
***Gwen enters from F3 - Area of Survivor's Camp***
No sign of Grace as she wandered from one end of their makeshift camp to another. Very few familiar faces at all. She assumed most people were busy with the plans to burn the fuselage, an effort from which she was happily willing to abstain.
She finally recognized Ethan, who'd managed to embed four posts into the sand but was having trouble stretching a tarp between them. She stifled a laugh at his apparent frustration while another end of the tarp came undone.
"Looks like you could use some help," she offered.

"Looks like you could use some help,"
"No, no, I'm fine-" The wind picked up, and a corner of the tarp lifted, slapping him in the face. He pushed it away, and gave an embarrassed smile. "Alright, so I'm not as manly and independent as I like to think I am..."

"Well, they say the first step is admitting that you have a problem," she said, shrugging off her backpack and letting it drop onto the sand. She approached a corner of the tarp and then looked to him for further instruction. "So what do I do now?"

"Just try and fasten it to the piece." he instructed, doing the same with his end. "Well, how are you dealing?"

"Hmm, well, let's see," she pondered, encircling a piece of twine around the wreckage post. "I had another breakdown, even bigger and better than the first one that you bore witness to. I got volunteered to take care of a feverish Southerner who seems to be stable at the moment, albeit still unconscious. And in a few hours, the fuselage of the plane that used to be like a second home to me, will be turned into a funeral pyre. So..." She sighed as she finished a double knot. "It hasn't been a good day. How 'bout you?"

He finished fastening his end to the wreckage, and listened to her carefully.
He wanted to hug her, and comfort her, and bring her right back to where he knew she would be happy. But she wouldn't take kindly to even a hug, not right now. But it hurt to know she was hurting.
"Gwen..." he took a few steps closer. "I am sorry....just try and keep in mind, that from here on out, I promise it will get better."
I will take care of you. That's what he wanted to say, but thought better of it.

((OOC: Sorry for the delayed response--talking on the phone with Heidi.)
"Well, it can't get much worse, can it?" she remarked, with a forced smile. He'd listened attentively, and he did seem to care for her well-being. It was almost a relief to not be the one giving solace and encouragement for a change.
"I suppose we'll just have to take it one crisis at a time, huh?"

He smiled warmly at her. "I guess we will." he replied, and then stood back to admire the rain catcher. "Well, that should do. Masterpiece of rain catchery."
ooc: No problem, and give her this from me. #kiss22ac#

She laughed slightly. "It is a wonder of architectural engineering. Rivaling Frank Lloyd Wright or I.M. Pei." She turned to him and smiled. "Well done, sir. At least you'll have some exciting stories for the schoolchildren back home. They won't think of their teacher as a boring old fuddy-duddy anymore. I mean, not that they do now," she added quickly.

He laughed. "You think I'm a fuddy-duddy?" he asked, pretending to be hurt. "I mean...you don't think I'm a manly man of manliness? I fixed my neighbour's plumbing once and everything."

She raised her eyebrows in mock admiration. "You fixed someone's plumbing? Well, that is definitely a sign of being a...a what, manly man of manliness."
She shook her head, giggling softly. "Sorry, the British school system ruined my perception of teachers. They're pretty much all Severus Snape in tweed suits. Not that people don't have their preconceptions about flight attendants, too..."

"I think my students see me as more of a Lord Voldemort at times...and preconceptions about flight attendants?" he asked. "You sky waitresses? I had no idea. Honestly."

"Oi," she cautioned, pointing a finger at him, "I resemble that remark." In truth, she'd become desensitized to the fact that the uniform somehow identified her as being easy or adventurous, when anyone who spent the smallest of time with her would quickly learn she was neither. But she had plenty of co-workers who were only too eager to capitalize on the image. Some of whom were on the flight with her...
She tried to push the sad thoughts away again. "So, do you think they'll be missing their Lord Voldemort? Or will they be too busy celebrating?"

More questions about his non-existent class. Might as well base them around the class he was once apart of. "You know, they probably won't even notice I'm gone." he said. "They'd just think...oh, Mr Rom has suddenly become more attractive and female."

"Oh, do give them some credit," she chided. "I think children are far more observant than people think. But maybe not quite as resilient. I feel bad for the children on the flight. Hopefully, Sayid can fix the transceiver and send out a distress signal soon, for their sakes."

"Hopefully. I'm sure we'll be rescued soon, people don't get lost, not these days." he replied, thinking about the children. Children had no pre-conceptions of good and evil, not yet, they still were able to make choices. They needed parents as guides, but all too often, they were...unsuitable. "You hungry, or...?"

"Actually, I'm starving," she confessed, the thought having somehow evaded her until he mentioned it. "Haven't eaten anything since this morning, and...that seems like ages ago. I suppose leftover airplane food is the only thing on the menu. Times like these I wish I watched Survivor instead of CSI; forensics knowledge won't do me much good out here."

He laughed, and said, "C'mon. We can try scavaging some plane food or....I saw some fruit, a little into the jungle. If you don't wanna go, that's fine, what with that creature and everything..."
