The beach near the water where the tail section of the plane falls. The tailies make camp here. Location found in box C5 below: Each box is 3 miles by 3 miles. It takes an hour to walk 3 miles. But also keep in mind that hiking (like that really steep hill to get to higher ground) will take a heck of a lot longer and that if you're running (like from some jungle thing), that you'll get somewhere faster.

Aaron woke up, stretching his arms and scratched his back gently. He walked down to the beach and threw a rock into the water. The sun slid over the horizon. He looked into his bag, which contained everything he would need. He looked down around the beach, waiting for his party to join him.

Fox had been up for hours already, she already distributed weapons to those who she thought were capable. Showed them a few quick moved and than made breakfast. Everything was all set, with a quick smirk she handed Brooks a leaf full of fish and Berries, "Eat, you'll need strength."

"Yeah something like that," dropping what little gear she had she sat down on a rock and waited for the others.

"That was a Sweedish fish joke, you know," he said, with a half smile. He spoke in a flat voice, as if he was just saying words to say words. They had no meaning. "Don't get too many of those."

Looking up she nodded, no there weren't many jokes going around. "True, maybe you can tell some to the other. they get more of it than i would." her voice was mono-tone, but there was a hint of amusement behind it.

Emilie watched as the group prepared to leave. What would become of everyone? She didn't know for sure.

"i'm sure its not you, maybe we just don't get?" she actually cracked a smile, and than went back to her mono-tone face. " so eat up," she motioned to the fish.

PAUL
Failure. Disappointment. These words summed up his mood as he woke up again on the beach. The sun seemed less bright on this particular day. True, it was still relatively early in the morning. But it still felt as if the sun's warmth, as it rose in the east, was a little dimmer and its fires a little cooler. He looked up at the sky and saw that there were no clouds. Not a single one, in fact. Not that he needed to look up at the sky to know what the sky would look like. Weather on The Island was decidedly...
What did it matter anyway? The children- none of them exhibited any of the qualities he had been looking for. He was looking for one very special child. One who had abilities that were extraordinary. One that could give him something that he needed. One that could harness their true potential. One that looked like... No, one that was...
Maybe he hadn't been looking properly? Maybe he hadn't asked the right questions or looked for the right signs?
He got up from his spot in the sand and walked past Brooks and the melodramatic woman, not looking in their direction as if they were not there. He was looking for someone in particular. He wasn't quite sure who that was just yet. But he needed someone who could help him find the right questions to ask the children.

KYLE
"What are you up to?" he asked Paul as he stood behind him. Kyle wanted to be sure that Paul wouldn't try anything while he and the others headed out into the jungle. Kyle was almost thinking of bringing Paul along, but he wasn't sure what he'd do with him once they were out in the jungle.

"What are you up to?"
"What am I up to? You make it sound like I'm plotting some kind of, ah, scheme." Paul answered, stopping to face Kyle and crossing his arms. "I'm just going to help with the children. What are you up to?"

KYLE
"What am I up to? You make it sound like I'm plotting some kind of, ah, scheme."
"Oh I don't know, maybe you are, maybe you aren't." Kyle walked straight up to Paul leaving about an inch face to face. It was strange, Kyle could look into Paul's eyes and know he lacked something the rest had. Fear.
"I'm just going to help with the children. What are you up to?"
Kyle smiled and took a step back. "Scheming," he replied in an attempt to try to mess with Paul's brain. If Paul was who Kyle thought he was then Kyle would have to be one step ahead. He would have to forget about fear, he would have to forget about anger, he would have to forget his emotions entirely. Emotions would cause Kyle to act on instinct, and instinct would hurt a lot of people. He would have to think like the monster that Paul was...which wasn't that hard for Kyle to do. If Paul was the man behind the mask, then Kyle would have to do something about it. But not yet, not while the others believed they were...safe.
Kyle was running out of time. Convincing people to side with him was always difficult for him, especially when he took the extreme approach. But sooner or later someone will get hurt and the window of opportunity would close on his head. Kyle would be leaving soon. Leaving Paul alone with the others, but Paul's devils dance with Kyle's demon in the fiddlers tomb was far from over. And that's the way Kyle wanted it.

PAUL
"Oh, I don't know. Maybe you are, maybe you aren't."
Paul remained in place as Kyle walked to stand close up against him. But his face betrayed an expression of puzzlement and somberness at the gesture.
"Scheming."
That much was obvious. But it was amusing that this Kyle seemed to think that he had even the slightest comprehension of what was being done. It was still more amusing that this fellow believed he could stop The List from being completed and hinder Paul's research while those who could hinder his efforts were off gallavanting in the jungle. But Kyle's altruistic tendencies and dogged loyalty to 'the innocent' were admirable personality traits. So admirable, in fact, that Paul reckoned that this specimen should be on The List. The violent streak and lack of appreciation for others' personal space was frustrating but they were flaws that could, hopefully, be corrected through intensive adverse stimulus conditioning.
Paul grinned back at the dour looking Survivor. "Why do you always insist on standing so close to me, Kyle? Is there something you need to tell me?"

BROOKS
He looked up in stunned silence for a couple seconds. He glanced from Kyle to Paul, trying to figure out what Kyle was up to. He shook his head and tapped Fox gently, pointing over in their direction nonchalantly.
"I don't think they're leaning in to kiss," he said dryly as he watched intently.

KYLE
"Why do you always insist on standing so close to me, Kyle? Is there something you need to tell me?"
Kyle's smile turned into a devious look. His eyes were squinted and he had a tiny smile on his face that almost seemed to be the focal point of Kyle's expression, as if he were plotting a sinister plan. "What ever I have to say I'm sure you've caught on to it by now." Kyle replied vaguely, referring to his growing suspicion of Paul. "Its almost strange," Kyle stated, "Why on a beach full of people, am I the only one who gets a bad feeling from you. Its almost disturbing. But of course to you and everyone else I seem like a skeptical nut case," Kyle explained with little emotion, "The only way I can explain their trust in you," Kyle continued referring to the others, "is that they are ignorant and blind sighted. I mean they say ignorance is bliss, but when you wake up one day and smell the bull shit, you'll realize that you had been controlled on a string like a puppet your entire life. But not to worry, you'll slip. And when you do, you'll find that the amount of people who will defend you will deplete."

PAUL
He just stood and listened to Kyle making his speech, the words replete with hollow threats. Paul's expression was something akin to the patient pity demonstrated when listening to an ailing friend or family member in the later years of their life.
When it seemed that Kyle was finished, Paul reached out and placed a gentle hand on the other man's shoulder. "God loves you as He loved Jacob." His tone was comforting yet condescending.
And then Paul turned to continue down the beach. He needed to find better questions to ask the children, not better quips to match Kyle's pithy remarks.
