***Gwen enters from the Fuselage***
"Just another round of fisticuffs," she told Sarah and Taliya. "This time between Michael and the Korean man. No idea what it's about, but Sayid seems to be dealing with it."

"Just another round of fisticuffs," she told Sarah and Taliya. "This time between Michael and the Korean man. No idea what it's about, but Sayid seems to be dealing with it."
"Figures another fight," Sarah shook her head, people on this island were always fighting. Not about something important, it of course had to be something stupid. because what could be so important, they were all stranded on this island and it wasn't like anyone planned this little adventure. "Is that girl ok?" Sarah looked up, she was worried about the girl with the hurt face.

"Is that girl ok?"
"Ruby?" she clarified, now remembering that the girl seemed to have a cut on her forehead. "Yes, I'm sure she'll be back to eagerly passing judgment on all of us again in no time." Then softening her tone since Sarah seemed genuinely concerned. "She'll be fine. I know Jack's away at the moment, but we've still got Vivian if anyone needs help."

Sarah smiled, seems like someone else had trouble with Gwen. why did everyone seem to have it out for Gwen when she had been nothing but helpful to everyone around her? First Ana, now Ruby?
"Yeah, i guess everything will be ok." Sarah looked up at Gwen with courious eyes and asked a question only a child could... "Gwen, why do adults fight over stupid things?"

"Gwen, why do adults fight over stupid things?"
"Oh, sweetie, if I knew that, I'd be working at the UN or something," she sighed. "Not on an airplane." She glanced back at the fuselage to see a discussion still going on between Sayid and Michael, with the Korean woman trying to intervene on her husband's behalf.
She turned back to Sarah. "Anyway, what's the next order of business here?" she asked.

Little Sarah "Anyway, what's the next order of business here?" Sarah smiled and shook her head. "Nothing, in fact its time for a union break." Sarah grinned and rested on the sand, she felt like singing the first time in two days.s I've been around the world A couple of times, or maybe more, I've seen the sights, I've had delights On ev'ery foreign shore, But when my friends all ask me The place that I adore, I tell them right away.
CHORUS Give me a home among the gum trees, With lots of plum trees, A sheep or two, a kangaroo. A clothesline out the back, Veranda out the front And an old rocking chair.
You can see me in the kitchen Cooking up a roast, Or vegemite on toast, Just you and me, a cup of tea. Later on, we'll settle down, And mull up on the porch And watch the possums play.
Give me a home among the gum trees, With lots of plum trees, A sheep or two, a kangaroo. A clothesline out the back, Veranda out the front And an old rocking chair.
There's a Safeway on the corner And a Woolworths down the street, And a New World's just been opened Where they regulate the heat, But I'd trade them all tomorrow For the simple bush retreat Where the kookaburras call.
Give me a home among the gum trees, With lots of plum trees, A sheep or two, a kangaroo. A clothesline out the back, Veranda out the front And an old rocking chair.
Some people like their houses With fences all around, Others live in mansions, And some beneath the ground, But me, I like the bush, you know, With rabbits running round And a pumpkin vine out the back.
Give me a home among the gum trees, With lots of plum trees, A sheep or two, a kangaroo. A clothesline out the back, Veranda out the front And an old rocking chair.

"One of your Australian lullabies?" Sarah looked up and smiled.
"Just something me and my dad use to sing when we went hiking, because my mom loved to hike. and me and my dad hated it, so about half way up we start to sing and mommy get so annoyed."

Annoying one's mother--a pasttime she could clearly support. "You'd never catch my mother hiking," Gwen informed the little girl. "Not even if there was a Tiffany's on top of the mountain."

"You'd never catch my mother hiking, Not even if there was a Tiffany's on top of the mountain." Sarah smiled and sat close by Gwen.
"Isn't that a store for really rich peoples?" Sarah had no idea Gwen had money, if she had money why was she a flight attendant? "Are you rich, Gwen?"

"No, no. Not really," she answered. "I mean, not compared with other people. At least, not me personally. But my father's side of the family has this old, vague title from years back. It's supposedly a big deal, in some circles, but not to me."

He smiled as he turned to Shannon and back to Boone. Then he saw that it was just the little girl with Gwen now. A devilish grin creeped upon his face as he turned to Boone.
"If you'll excuse me, I have a British person to make laugh," he said. "Don't worry, I'm not going to tickle her or anything childish like that. Plus, there seems to be a real shortage of feathers around anyway. It was nice to meet you Boone."
He turned to Shannon. "And of course, an even greater pleasure. Shannon."
With that he trotted over to Gwen and Little Sarah to see how building a sandcastle was going.
"I had a sand castle once," he said, in his usual ADD-riddled voice. "With a sand moat, and a sand drawbridge... a sand ski-doo, a sand dragon, a sand prison and a sandwitch in the sand prison.... and piles and piles of sand dollars!"

Sarah nodded but before she got to answer, they were interrupted.

"You talk funny," Sarah spoke that as if she didn't mean it at all, she found him slightly amusing; but it was rude to interrupt someone's conversation. "But, you do know its rude to interrupt when people are having a conversation... right?" Sarah crossed her arms in front and waited for his answer.

"It's fine, Sarah," she said. "I don't believe you've met George, or G. Who is apparently an equally skilled and ambitious sandcastle architect."

"You talk funny,"
"And you," he responded in the same matter-of-fact tone, "are short." He smiled and looked from Gwen as she spoke, back to Sarah. "I didn't mean to interrupt. I'm sorry if it came across as rude. As Gwen said, I'm G."

"And you...are short." Sarah glared and was about to say something, but Gwen stopped it before it got out of hand.
"It's fine, Sarah, I don't believe you've met George, or G. Who is apparently an equally skilled and ambitious sandcastle architect."
"I didn't mean to interrupt. I'm sorry if it came across as rude. As Gwen said, I'm G."
"K," and with that and her "shortness" she walked back over to her castle and went inside. "Rude, and annoying man." she mumbled and held onto Mr. Floppers.

As Sarah walked away, Gwen turned back to G with an apologetic smile. "Sorry, she's been through a great deal. She's normally very outgoing. Or not," she added after some thought. She quirked an eyebrow at him. "A sand ski-doo?" she repeated.

"Yeah," he said, with a smile, before turning his head to look off as if in thought. "It's for show, mostly. I mean, if you take it out in the water it tends to... disintegrate."

"I can see how that would be a problem," she nodded. "Impractical watercraft aside, are you adjusting okay to island life?"

"There's a surprizing lack of pineapples around here," he said, flatly. "...and sleeping on the sand is not as comfortable when it's an every night thing.... and I've got sand everywhere! But, you know, that's to be expected. How... how about you?"
